Last Night I placed a bet on A Jamaican football match (HUMBLE LIONS) BTTS, It wasen't a random bet as I've bet on this team a few times in the past with no problems. With the away team the favourites and Cash out available,
I was hoping for an early goal then to cash out which didn't come until a minute before half time to the home team.

Wanted to cash out but there was no box yet i know for a fact the odds for BTTS was below what i originally backed at the start of the match. I also went back to check every five minutes and was still not able to cash out yet the orange circle was clearly displayed in the market?

Can anything be done about this? I feel ripped off as it finished 1-0

Any help would be great.

The market was blank no prices yet my bet got matched at the start of the match. i know from experience that at 1-0 the odds for BTTS should have been around 1.8 so i should of been able to cash out for a small profit which was the idea

betfair take 2-3 days to reply to emails.

You can't trade out or cash out if there is no liquidity at the time you want to bet.

Yeah and I can imagine the Jamaican league being bad for liquidity

Betfair reply. what aload of bo**ox

Dear Adam,

As promised earlier today on 'Chat' I am replying to you with a response with the cash out issue that you had with the Humble Lions game.

Having had a reply from the relevant department I can confirm that we had no issues with the event and that cash out should of been available for you to use.

When cash out is not appearing, if possible come on 'Chat' or ring up the helpdesk when the game/event is happening as then we can look into this and advise you as what you can do to try and fix the issue. The majority of times when cash out is not appearing it is usually a display issue with the browser. In future reference try deleting the cookies and cache of the browser you are using and see if this sorts the problem.

If you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us again, or check the frequently asked questions on our Help and Learning site http://en.learning.betfair.com/app/home.

Kind regards,

Lawrence Evans

There are two reasons, either there was no liquidity like yomomma has said in which case there would not be an option to cash out and betfair should have explained that in their response, the other is sometimes the cash out option just does not appear due to a glitch and you just need to refresh the browser or phone whatever you use.
Some people do not know how to manually lay a bet off and further more to hedge the bet to an all green state.

It was not possible to lay as the market was blank no prices displayed,I refreshed the browser many times with no joy.

Then it beggars the question, why didn't you put a price up in the hope of it getting matched?

Sounds like no liquidity then mate, betfair really should know better to have explained that to you in their email. Not a lot you can do I am afraid. Does not surprise me in a game like that. Agree with daffodil, that is an option, maybe the only option. It has happened to me a few times on overs.

There was almost zero liquidity in the match odds market for this - maybe £2k when I looked, so there'll have been less on the BTTS market.

If you're going to trade a market, i.e. using cash out is one option, you have to know the market and make sure you don't outbet it. You can put thousands into your average Premier League match and you'll be fine, but try the same on even a Conference match and you'll struggle to trade out properly.

Should have posted up on the forum at the time, someone would have given you a poor price to cash out.
