Hartlepool is close to water. I remember the wind blowing in from a battered old stand in the 80's, and the last time we was there we was drinking in some pub next to water. Grimsby is very close to the North Sea. Norwich is near a river, as is Peterborough. Isn't Man Utd near the Liverpool - Leeds Canal? There's one in Scotland, that's even closer. Arbroath maybe? You have to catch a boat to Venezia's ground. And has anyone mentioned Stockport? ![]() |

I've been to Atletico Madrid's stadium and I didn't see a river anywhere. Its right in the middle of a load of houses. And everyone eats ham baguettes at half time.
