Apologies if this has already been posted.

A piece on p14 of yesterday's (Sunday) RP tells of Richard Royal, Ladbrokes public affairs manager, being selected as an approved Conservative parliamentary candidate. He hopes to stand for parliament at the next general election.

Maybe he could be minister for the expansion and proliferation of FOBTs.

whats the latest on fobts?  is the feeling the govt will make a big stand against them or just decrease the stakes a little to appease the anti crowd?

gambling must make. a big contribution to the public purse i think 2000£ per machine in duty to start with, plus you have 1000s of jobs at stake so i doubt there will be a change of any substance, incredible they made 1.1 bn in the uk last year!

thinking about it you are right in that regard, most bookies single man at night now anyway so they are already cutting back as much as possible, so yeah probably just an untrue industry argument
