This is a serious genuine point based on facts

England have had a lot of bad luck in World Cups over the years

1986: Knocked out a cheating Argie, second wonder goal being irrelevant as if the first was never scored the pattern of lay would have been completely different, he'd never have picked the ball up where he did etc.

1990 - Knocked out on Penalties in the Semi's

1994 - Didn't play

1998 - Knocked out on penalties playing with 10 men

2002 - Knocked out by a jammy cross come shot and Beckham jumping out of a tackle leading to the second goal, both after England lead.

2006 - Knocked out on penalities

2010 - Knocked out in the second round, game could have been completely different had Lampards goal whi ch was 200 meters over the line, had stood

2014 - Potential Winners

33/1 represents good value, we can't keep getting knocked out on penalties, it's our time.

It's 7 matches, Italy are n =o world beaters neither are Uruguay, Costa Rica are actually better than people give credit for but should still be no match for us.

We'll then draw one from Japan, Greece, Columbia or Ivory Coast - I'm quaking in my boots

After topping the group and seeing off Columbia we'll face a fading Spanish side and then Brazil with the overrated Neymer, all of which the pressure will be too much being a home tournament, never mind the Considerations Cup, this is the real deal and in the Final up step Germany, 2-0 England.

Judging by the time of post I would imagine the OP has had a few large ones ,fair play for ur optimism and I wish them luck
but their performance in 2010 although prob irrelevant was just sick ,we are an average side couldnt be much shorter than 33s ..
I will probably have a small bet at that price if only for something to dream about Happy

Mesmerised they will not get out of the group. I actually would like if they did but they won't. Italy will have too much for England as will Uruguay. England will be like lambs to the slaughter in the heat. If you think they would come close to Japan's high tempo game you are off your rocker. Colombia in South America, Ivort Coast are not great but would probably beat England, if and it is a huge if they qualified, Greece are the best bet for ye. Good luck what ever happens.

The same Denmark who were humped at home by Armenia (who are not bad), humiliated though. Give me a break.

Whatever country you are from, you are clearly Anti English. Who in their right mind would be worried about JapanLaugh they are always the same, run about like headless chickens, but get undone on the break very easily. Very god in qualifying in Asia but that's it, even Belarus beat them in a friendly - Belarus, and No Offence, and what is "Columbia in South America" meant to mean? have they never lost a match in South America? if we got them next, it would be in the south of the Country which in July in Brazil is not hot, more like 20°c.

We will beat Italy and Uruguay.

Was this the same Danish side who didn't even play their best player, had the Leicester keeper in goal, a Fulham reserve in midfield and had Bendtner up front and who in the past year have been humped by Macedonia and Armenia?

The rest of the world must be running scared after such a resounding 1-0 victory.

True to form, Fibcuits trots out stats like nobody's business, do you watch football Biscuit? Schmeichel looked a top draw keeper last night and has been linked with a move to Milan. You don't want to take Denmark seriously, then how about Brazil - Wilshere was man of the match.

I have got on but not to lay off before the off, I'll green up in case we're robbed on penalties again after the group stages, the difference this year is that A)there is no expectation and with no expectation comes a lot less pressure, we are not hyped up the way we have been since I've been following England (96), B) the mentality is different, the golden generation have all but died along with the egos they carried, C) with Wilshere out for 6 weeks, he will get that extra bit of rest to be fresh for the plane.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Inter Milan are 5th in Serie A and are currently rebuilding, going from the Walker Bowel to the San Siro is a big step up whichever way you look at it, and last night he looked just like his dad - Tarrabt is a good player who just hard to handle.

What exactly waas controversial about everybody's mate  'Ibra' ? I said he is the most overrated player of his generation - which he is, nothing controversial about it, just a fact.
Report Biscuit1979 March 6, 2014 6:14 PM GMT
What have Inter got to do with things, you said he was linked with Milan?

And as for your little rant, nothing in my post was untrue. I couldn't care less who he's linked with, the fact is he's still the Leicester keeper and Denmark are a very average side who've been soundly beaten by poor sides recently. A narrow 1-0 victory over them is most definitely not something to write home about.
Report mesmerised March 6, 2014 6:20 PM GMT
What rant, my post to you was two lines longCrazy

So he's with Leicester that makes him average does it? that mentality is why England have failed over the years, constantly picking a squad from the big clubs, now with the likes of Lallana, shaw baines, Jagielka etc  we actually have players who care about playing the national team, also, you're overplaying the whole Denmark thing, the World cup is what matters, if the majority of people were right, than the majority of people would be winning on Betfair, the majority don't.
Report RamonSanchezPizjuan March 6, 2014 6:55 PM GMT
I semi agree with the post above as when i look at Chile and how their players play it is poles apart from some clubs these lads are at. Beausujour looks like a fine player when with Chile when he is average at best, fine side btw. PS Don't dis Japan Mes, a very good outfit.

England look so slow. I know there's no point in a hundred mile an hour football but last night was very poor. I don't think roy knows what system to play. Sturridge out wide is wrong he's got to be in the middle. England's problem over the years is they can't keep the ball. Out in Brazil against the better sides they will be chasing the ball and will end up shattered. English players playing for england all seem scared to make errors and want to get rid of the ball as quick as possible. It comes down to technical ability and against the top teams england lack it.
Report Speedyr369 March 6, 2014 10:27 PM GMT

What part are you all struggling to understand, we are England not Guam, a dot on the map.

What would you have all said if I told you in March 2004 that Greece were going to win the European Championships? you would have said the same thing you're saying now, "I'll lay you whatever odds you want", that's because you seem to suffer from cognitive biasm when it money, think outside the box, just because certain teams are talked up doesn't mean that they will win.
Report Speedyr369 March 6, 2014 10:40 PM GMT
