Maybe 'hate' is a bit strong, perhaps just 'don't like' would suffice.

No way should he be banned or even fined. He's just having a bit of banter with the fans. It's pathetic that they can shout abuse and call him whatever they like, but when he simply tells them the score he's the one in trouble. Hope the fa do nothing.

just sums up the one-eyed obnoxiousness of the modern football fan. shout abuse at a guy on a stretcher then get outraged if he gives anything back, however innocuous.
it's not s spurs problem; it a cu nts problem.

When I said: "I hope his knee is damaged beyond repair and he never plays again," what I actually meant was "I hope his knee is damaged beyond repair and he never walks again."
I hope this clarifies the matter.

It was a joke originally, I'm well known among the Arsenal and Tottenham fans on here for not even disliking the Arsenal.
You people should not take everything so seriously - he was sitting up smiling, giving the Spurs fans a bit of banter, it's doubtful he'd have been doing that with his career hanging in the balance.

And you didn't mean to upset me by saying you hoped my family died in agony of cancer? You're getting funnier by the minute.
Sorry, are you Theo Walcott? And you didn't mean to upset me by saying you hoped my family died in agony of cancer? You're getting funnier by the minute.
In with a chance? We need 440-odd on a pitch with uneven bounce against a decent attack. We've struggled to get 200 on this tour. We're gonna get exactly what we deserve - whitewashed.

Walcott thinks he's some kind of hardman nowadays which is funny because he'll always be a pu$$y...you could see him timidly praying none of the coins hit him and instead hit the St John's Ambulance staff.

Walcott will probably end up getting a 1 match ban or a warning, Spurs will get rebuked for the conduct of their fans, Arsenal likewise for failing to control the fans in their stadium but the idiots who threw the coins will walk away from this scot free.

"you could see him timidly praying none of the coins hit him and instead hit the St John's Ambulance staff" really? all I could see was him laughing at a bunch of neanderthals who were following their clubs example and throwing their money away

The FA have said no action to be taken against Walcott. The fact they even had to say it is a sad indictment of modern fans. Strangely they haven't said anything about banning Dembele for the butt or that other kid for the attempted stamp or indeed those that actually threw coins and bottles

Come on Maverick, you're going to sound just as pathetic if you start bleating about the "headbutt" and "attempted stamp". A two nil gesture, a few coins thrown by fans, talk about a non-story. Must be a very slow news day if that's the headline on BBC Sport.

not bleating KR. Goes back to the Wilshere thing. The FA used their new ability to use tv evidence to ban him - that ability came about because of Callum McManaman trying to cut that Newcastle player in half. Since then they've used it to ban Wilshere for his gesture and completely ignored all the potentially career ending tackles that referees have missed and that it was brought in for. I can think of Mikel on Arteta and Toure on Giroud just in our last few games. No doubt other teams can point to loads more. The FA are a joke outfit, not fit to run the game

I don't mind if it's dangerous tackles you want to complain about. A worthy cause. I'm just saying I've seen the replays of the Dembele "headbutt" and the stamp by Bentaleb, really very innocuous incidents, as was the Walcott gesture. It's like people have to drum up something out of nothing instead of just enjoying an entertaining game and a good win for Arsenal.

Knight Rider you think Walcott deserted his teammates even though he has an injury that will keep him out for the foreseeable future. You don't think he should have played on, do you?

seriously, what kind of world do we live in where people think it's okay to scream abuse at a guy on a stretcher but get outraged at something as innocuous as a smiling 2-0 gesture? why don't these fcking morons go the whole hog and sue for emotional trauma? maybe chuck in a bit of whiplash from being forced to chuck stuff at him.
like I said earlier, this isn't a spurs issue. it's an absolute fcking tw@t issue.

Sintonian I appreciate the days of Bert Trautmann et al are in the past, and some injuries are so bad that you can't even hobble around for the last 10 minutes, but I think in that situation I would be really disappointed to be letting my teammates down and my body language would hopefully reflect that, rather than sitting up and laughing about the whole affair.
All's well that ends well of course, but I wonder what the reaction of Arsenal fans would be if Spurs had come back to draw the match? I remember Aaron Lennon doing similar for us a few years ago with about 15 mins left at home to Stoke, I was not amused.

That's how I would feel Sint, but I appreciate not everybody is the same. I don't know how much sport you have played but it's an awful feeling having to leave a big game even when there is a sub lined up, but knowing I was leaving my teammates to battle on with 10 men I would be really gutted.

Just because he had a laugh at the Spurs fans who were abusing him doesn't mean he wasn't gutted. He couldn't carry on, nothing was going to change that, so if he was gutted or happy that we were on the verge of victory is irrelevant

Par for the course unfortunately Sint. I would have been screaming abuse at him when I was a silly teenager, now as a dad in my 30s I find it all rather pathetic. It's also pathetic all this 'moral high ground' stuff that fans like to take on the internet. If a Spurs player went down in front of 6000 travelling Arsenal fans he would get the same abuse, and if he made gestures at them while slowly being stretchered off in front of them he would get a load of coins as well. A sad reflection on football fans and mob mentality in general.

chucking coins and hurling abuse at a person that's part of the game that they pay to go and watch!! what on earth is all that about?? and what sort of person does that anyway??

No that's not tue mex, when Adebayor ran the length of the pitch to wave at Arsenal fans they politely applauded his sportsmanship and vowed never to sing rude songs to him.

They've obviously never been to a derby KR, it's. bear pit for 90 minutes.
Of course throwing coins is stupid, arsenal fans trying to take the moral high ground is pathetic.

I've got no real problem with people shouting abuse, even when a guy's being stretchered off. it's pretty classless, but it's all part of the rivalry.
what sticks in my craw is the rank, one-eyed hypocrisy of getting outraged at any response.
it's like someone crossed a knuckle-dragging yob with a whining claims direct lawyer then let the result loose on football.

That was timewasting in the usual Arsenal fashion...
The over rated half-wit will be back within two weeks..
I hate that Club and all that it represents....

Aye I'd guess so but its easy to write that kind of vile guff and then blow it off as 'banter' or 'rivalry' .... is the point I was making. The line doesn't seem to exist and can be moved too easily.
