Lucky to have not given another three penalties away and had at least one more man off, seems the ref is feeling sorry for Stoke.

Once he had done his damage - Stoke a goal up, in total control and Newcastle being totally outplayed.

Then in steps Atkinson, two sent off in two minutes, sandwiched by a penalty decision and then missing a blatant handball leading to the Newcastle equaliser.

Atkinson is a joke of a referee, the worst in the premiership by a long, long way!!  And has been for a number of years now

That's funny, I don't recall you starting any referee threads when Sunderland had Wes Brown quite ridiculously sent off v Stoke earlier in the season.

Perhaps Hughes should have a word and teach his players to control themselves

Wes Brown was another example of a incorrect referee decision changing a game - Stoke were being outplayed at the time but it totally turned the game on its head.

Too many times referees change games but Atkinson excelled today - He is the worst there is.

BTW: Assuming youre a Sumderland fan you'll remember him sending Robert Huth off ( later overturned ) for a well timed challenge a couple of seasons ago?

If a referee was corrupt he's certainly not going to draw attention to himself by sending off two players in the space of a few minutes

Sunderland played an entire half with 9 men earlier this season and didn't even concede. You should perhaps concern yourself with the fact Hughes didn't have a clue how to set his team up for the 2nd half.
