Feel for Lampard backers. But wouldn't have gone in without Cats touch.

Backers need consistency with these. Not all the comm b0llocks of Lampard deserves it and Cat doesn't want it.

There is a consistency with them. That is if the original shot or header was on target it's deemed to be the attacking player's goal.

For some reason "official sources" and it seems yourself have decided to deviate from that.

It was Lampard's goal no question.

Can't agree.

Was more like a shot on target being prevented from going in by the defender.

Who's own momentum then put the ball in the net.

Without the defenders 2nd touch it wouldn't have gone in.

Regards it was "Lampards goal no question." This seems to be the opinion of an ex pro and Lampard backers.

All official sites called it correctly as an OG.

The Chelsea goal scored at Sunderland in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night is credited to Frank Lampard.

It was reported in sections of the media as an own goal by Lee Cattermole but the Football League has informed Chelsea FC that the referee on the night, Anthony Taylor, confirmed the goal as scored by Lampard.

Oh what a surprise.

The worst one recently was the one Suarez was given when it was heading about 3 yards wide until it took a wicked deflection. So the rule of initially being on target is not always applied.

I presume it'll still be settled as an own goal because just about all betting firms go on the Press Association goalscorer I think.

The fact anyone tried to claim it was an own goal under all the criteria ever used for disputed goalscorers was ludicrous in the first place.
