could be one of the biggest ever world cup fixes
I'll think you don't have to look hard for some much bigger fixes.

some guy said earlier he put thousands on a home win because "it's the closest you'll ever get to free money"
I learned this a long time ago - but there's no way you can accurately price up a dead second leg.

Suarez will surely be keen to get a couple too after missing out in the 1st leg. I'm taking Uruguay on match odds, ht/ft and also unquoted.
Anyone heard from this poor chap, hope he is ok

wow just shows difference in opinion. Didn't think 5 flattered Uruguay at all last week
First 4 goals last week came from Uruguay strikers being unmarked in the area due to deflections or walkabout duty. Fifth goal was class.
Jordan away are a defensive team, so there were plenty of men in the box this week to cut out the lucky breaks.

Didn't watch it so can't really comment but are people confusing 'fixed' with 'couldn't be bothered'
I think so. Fixed is Peru losing 6-0 to Argentina so the hosts can qualify or the German-Austrian Anschluss so both teams went through.

Not sure i ever said i was going in large. Then again, what is large? A large bet for someone might be a drop in the ocean for someone else.I got out of 2 of my bets as i was out last night, left the match odds to run though. Stinker.Lost about 200 overall.
Even if you did 'get out of 2 of my bets' , you would still have made a loss on them, small or not, obviously, so your bet on match odds would be at least £200 @1.05 to win £10 , really?? ffs

"I'd love for some Uruguayan mafia that lost money to kidnap members of that Uruguay team and torture the truth out of them"Taken your loss well then?
It's a curious situation. I lost, like I said, a decent three figure sum, but it was all profit, which p*sses me off, but it's nothing compared to losing money you've actually slaved away for, and I saved over twice as much of that kind of money by redding out on about the hour mark. When the full-time whistle went I was just glad my losses weren't worse. But yes, I think it's sh*tty I lost a lot of money because Uruguay are bent

I think the people saying it was a "fix" are just talking through their banks, as always happens. 0-0 didn't even come below 70 in this game until I think after the 10th minute so people watching and laying were either 1. insane (which I wouldn't rule out) or 2. thought a goal looked likely on what they were seeing.
I got the impression that bots were just ruling the markets. Uruguay were still single figures to back in the 91st minute with Jordan having a free-kick and a man down timewasting; then Uruguay were still a shorter price than Jordan in the 94th minute when Jordan had a corner. The match odds market - unlike the goals markets - was stuck far too much to its original price.

Amazing how many people on here saw this coming yet didn't say a word before kick off/didn't have a go at backing 0-0 @ 700/1 or whatever it was.
The aim of the two-legged match was to get to the World Cup. Uruguay were already there. I've learnt this kind of lesson before and I'm very cautious with two-legged matches, especially ones that are over at half-time.

It's a bit like saying Man U getting a 0-0 against stoke last game of the season is a JFK style conspiracy, when the trophy is already sitting in the stand with their name on it and they can enjoy a 90 minute stroll...
Lets be clear, Jordan are a mug side. You don't get beat 5-0 at home to Uruguay in such an important game, I don't care how many lucky deflections Uruguay had. I'd say the gap between Uruguay is like a full strength Man United and a Conference side, maybe even lower. Uruguay should have played the reserves and won. That's the reason I was on it, and didn't believe the fact the tie was won was relevant. I actually would never blindly back, I even doing the work when it's San Marino. Uruguay just didn't do their job, or they may not have been trying.

Aftertimers club!! I lost around £4 on the match so I have no emotionally ties to the game and I can say after watching football for many yearsthere was clearly something fishy about the game, players refusing to shoot etc. Yes it could have been pure laziness and Jordon time wasting but you can understand punters suspicions.
Classis scene from The Waltons:

The last time Manchester United played a conference side, they won 1-0 with the Conference side hitting the bar in the final minute.
Okay then, a Conference side that isn't paying all it's players League One/Championship wages
