As markets/prices now very poor on here have moved over to the high street bookies to get my bets on. Also doing more doubles/trebles/acca etc on the footy.

Now finding it almost impossible to get on most things. Only sky and sj taking any sort of decent bet. bet victor were but account now shut down. The rest wh.cor.lad.365.bfred.boyle.ppower all a joke take a few hundred quid max. Trying both online and in shops. The shop staff just look at you as if your stealing money from them appears they are only interested in processing £10 horse/footy coupons

Bet on most things mainly footy, golf, tennis, cricket, F1, AFooty, Darts and Rugby. Always taking short priced favs around 1/3 to 1/8 range  and trying to get on in region of 3-4k per bet so exposure for the bookie is never more than a few hundred quid to a grand at the most

Does anyone else have this problem and if so how are you getting your bets on? Read stuff in papers about the big 3 taking 5 and 6 figure sums on footy etc but find it hard to believe as I can't get anymore than a few hundred quid on with them. I win enough to get by but still got full time job so only winning on average a couple of grand a month so not huge sums.

For footy still able to use betfair at lower prices but when trying for doubles/trebles etc just cant seem to get them on with bookies. Tennis masters outright, cpalace relegation, c palace finish bottom, carling cup outright recent bets where no money in betfair market and no bookie will take anymore than a few hundred quid on them.

Surely if people are winning they should sack fixed odds compiler instead of shutting down/restricting accounts. If the big bookies offer a price my view is that they should take decent money on it otherwise why stick it up there in the 1st place.

Must be plenty of big hitters out there so interested to know your views on this and how yous are getting your bets on?

Ive had my accounts closed at Bet 365 , Tom Waterhouse , IAS Bet and been limited at sportingbet and sportsbet. They all do it and if you have a longterm account with bet365 your a loser its a simple fact. If your a good Horse Racing punter you will be closed even quicker.

online is a bust, i had about 10 accounts, now cant use any of them. all closed or limited to £2 and the like.

shops the best is badcrooks. unfortunately you have no real choice but to trawl round about 10 different shops to get decent money on. obviously taking crap prices along the way. all bookies avoid singles like the plague. just dont bother betting on singles again. doubles and trebles can be good value, they dont have to be mug bets. just find two or three things that arent happening on the same day and put em in one bet.

Pinnacle one of the better ones IMO

take a single, youd do well to get on £100 at even money. i had one shop manager phone up to get authorisation on a £100 single at 1/2. they took the bet, but took about 15 minutes thinking about it. but a treble, can easily get a £100 treble on that pays 5 grand. the logic is baffling. theyll take a 5 fold that pays 20k but dont like singles with a 50 quid liability. go figure.
Report sideshowbob October 31, 2013 4:15 PM GMT
they also have self service terminals in badcrooks and paddys. very limited stakes though. can sometimes get 50 quid on 14/1 shot though. the payout is usually limited to 500 or 1k. and not everything is on them either. no idea if you could go in several branches and put the same bet on, or if theyre all linked and would reject it, never tried it. i very rarely bother betting outside of here anymore.

TABCORP in Australia take large bets.

Ive had multiple large sum money bets on even minnow leagues like the lower Scottish divisions.
Report sideshowbob October 31, 2013 4:20 PM GMT
badcrooks is the only high street bookie that will take any kind of lumpy bet. hills and corals youve got no chance. hills arent really a bookies anymore, theyre just an amusement arcade.

Forget Europe as the only real bookmakers left in the world are in Australia and the American-facing books in the Carribean.

Three proper outfits that stand a decent bet and don`t close down winners are:

Pinnacle (best I know of)
Tabcorp
5Dimes

there are possibly a few others out there

This sounds the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Cheers guys will try pinnacle and TABCORP to see what they like.

sideshow - hills shop in Glasgow okay with me only one that actually take large bets and I do win with them. Just no logic between all the different bookies. Sky for example take any bet including up to 30k and don't move price. most of the others I phone offer me £50/£100 and when I go off phone the price has moved in even though I actually never bet anything. also been at Cheltenham hospitality and old Trafford the same with sky bet as in their priority club - they are different gravy to any of the others.

Tried 7500 in coral today for palace to finish rock bottom at 8/15 only gave me 1500. ladcrooks still 8/15 so going to try the other 6k with them in the morning hopefully ur right about them

Its about time we put pressure on the government to make these frauds advertise how much they will stand. On oddschecker and on the websites they should be made to put up the price and the amount they will take next to it.

Then you could have (for example):

Ipswich 8/11 (£200)
Draw 14/5 (£200)
Barnsley 7/2 (£200)

They should then me made, legally, to stand any bets at that price upto that amount without referring to traders

They are lazy scum bags. They just close down accounts rather than keep up with the odds. Not worth the time of day, shouldn't be allowed to call themselves bookmakers.

coral, ladbrooks, paddypower, skybet, b oyle, vc some of the worst in the world.

I must assume that's a joke. "We're on your side" is their slogan, but if you have a "dirty" ew race they won't even take an ew bet, in fact there is NO ew option on the bet slip in these races! Completely on the pockets or their masters. IMPOSTORS.

Betbutler is horrendous, advertise a price and dont even let you take it! Betvictor have banned me anytime I've bet over £200 on something, not just limited but banned it's comical. Boyles gubbed me after one £150 bet, if I try and put 10p on anything now I get the "bet rejected by automatic risk controls" crap come up!

Cant win more than £50 at betfred, similar with Paddy, 365 I lasted a while but put £200 on a daft price they had on a Moldovan game and now limited to winning no more than a fiver on a bet.

There was a fixed Spanish match at the end of last season, was about 1.33 on here at half time, stanjames had 4/6, I took it and got banned and accused of arbing even though I didnt! It's a bit of a joke really, they offer us prices, we take them and get banned or limited for it!

Have heard SBO and Pinnacle are good but no idea if thats true or not.

Betbutler prices are a guide only and it's not until you try to bet that they offer you their best available price, which is maybe once in a hundred the price you saw!

Saw an interesting programme on tv, probably on youtube now The Gambler, John O'Shea..he puts his big cash bets on in local bookie shops in rough areas of town, he is basically a posh kid, but he dresses up in shell suits, base ball caps etc, to blend in and look like some sort of drug dealer, criminal type to get his big cash bets on, as high street bookies won' t accept his large bets.
He had 400k on B. Munich to win CL Final v Chelsea in 2012 and lost.

as a few others have said Pinnacle or SBObet are good if you're using high stakes on football, they wont cut you but may be limited, the limits are high though on mainstream markets. stuff like brazilian second division soccer you can still get up to 7 or 8k on which is decent imo..

Indeed, it's daft in it? Even if I was arbing they should change their prices so people cant arb, pretty simple really instead the customer gets punished for spotting value. It's laughable.

Report Bottom_of_the_League November 2, 2013 1:00 PM GMT
If you have the cheek to shop around for prices and take the best one, they think you're arbing. Strange logic really; they just want the idiots with one account who will take any price.

My life would be a million times easier if I could bet as much as I liked at the advertised odds. I haven't placed a bet with a bookmaker, except Pinnacle, for years. I don't even bother looking at bookmaker prices as it's likely to be as fruitful as asking Angelina Jolie to elope with me. I remember before FOBT's came onto the scene, some bookmakers would let you win thousands before limiting you. Around 2003-2005, I won probably £150,000 from Ladbr0kes on the NBA in one season, and almost as much from St@n James on MLB without any problems. I was winning and staking £1,000 - £2,000 a go online and there was no problem getting on. When Arsenal beat Southampton in the FA Cup Final, even B365 let me have £750 @ 11/2 on Thierry Henry to be MoM. He was and they didn't limit me afterwards. These days you can't even get £50 bets on. Sadly I started staking more, anything from £3,000 - £40,000 a go, just when it became impossible to get bets on anywhere pretty much. It's pretty frustrating when you know you have a massive edge on a market and you can't bet on it.
