Arsenal -1 at evens? Any thoughts? Seems a decent and fair price to me

Oct. 22 -v- Borussia Dortmund
Oct. 26 -v- Crystal Palace
Oct. 29 -v- Chelsea

Early kick-off, away from home and with Chelsea on their mind, I can't see Arsenal being bothered about putting on a show. They'll probably win, but at those odds I'd definitely want to see them at work first. So far they've conceded in every away game this season, meaning that if Crystal Palace achieve the same, they'd have to score three goals for your bet to win. If that's your thought, I'd probably be more inclined to back Any Unquoted @ ~4.7 (for a trade).

Chelsea game is league cup and wenger doesn't give a feck about it. Comfortable 3 or 4 nil win for me.

arsenal have won all away games apart from wba 1-1 scoring 9 goals in 4 games

palace have lost all home games apart from bottom club sunderland 3=1 conceding 8 goals in 4 games

-1 on arsenal at evens looks value

i have gone big in the outright on the gooners at 2/5Cool

Oh, didn't notice that it was for the League Cup against Chelsea. Sorry 'bout that. That might make a difference, although those fixtures ("big club" -v- "big club") are often about more than winning/losing alone. Prestige is a good motivator, no? Happy

Arsenal Clean Sheet (Yes) @ 2+ and/or Any Unquoted @ 4.5+ stand out for me. Can't help but think that either of the two will have to come in if you believe they'll cover the handicap.

Arsenal -1 AH @ 1.57
Over 2.5 goals @ 1.65
Over 3.5 goals @ 2.64
Any Unquoted @ 4.7

If you think Crystal Palace will get on the scoresheet, surely there are better bets than Arsenal -1 AH? It's a little more risky (it could end 0 - 1, in which case you'd at least get your money back), but it all depends on whether you think Arsenal will keep a clean sheet or not.

Anyway, I'll stick to what I said earlier: I'd like to see them at work first.

The disarray we are in and the fact we fold once the first one goes in, means it matters little who Wenger selects, we will concede  plenty as whomever KM picks to do the job tomorrow, they will struggle to cope with the way Arsenal spray the ball around, good chance of a red card as well, if he retains Moxey/Jedinak/O'Keefe, who all get physical when things go awry.

Expecting them to be ultra defensive, most probably 4-5-1 and doubt very much they'll be spending much time in Arsenal's half of the  pitch, most unlikely to be entertaining viewing for anyone.

Arsenal must be their shortest price for an away league game for 5/6 years

Seem wildly overrated to me ; not done anything much different than in previous seasons ( a winning run vs mug teams, often narrowly , but come up short vs the best) so can't see whey they are being priced up like the great Arsenal teams of old Plain

Rather difficult to make a case for our defence to hold them at bay for too long, unless KM has managed to find some pace for our back four and convinced the midfield that they need to put in some tackles before the opposition player gets into our penalty box, going to be a long 90 minutes I fear...!

The shortest price an away jolly has been turned over was Burnley v Man United, 1-0@1.29.

Arsenal were beaten by Stoke @1.36 in 2008 and the "incvincibles" drew with Palace in 2004 @1.36. I was at that game and Palace should have won. Greek legend Vasilik Lakis somehow hit it over from 1 yard out!

If you'd had £100 on Arsenal every time they were sub 1.5 away from home you'd have had 23 bets, won 15 and you'd be £240 down. Of these 23 matches, Arsenal have only gone in ahead 12 times!

If you'd bet £100 on every away team at less than 1.5 youd have a loss of £503.60 from 162 bets.

The shortest ever away team was Man U (1.22) at Derby in 2008. Ronaldo got the winner in the 76th Minute. I bet there were a few new pairs of trousers needed that day.

If you must have a bet in the 1X2 market in this match surely you can wait until half time?

Correction: The above is since 2000-01 and Man U were 1.15 when they beat Derby.

This could be a rout lads, palace are dreadful and if the gunners score early then its heading for a 4 or 5 goal victory.

Pile in then lads, he has made 6 changes to Mondays team, only two are beneficial, Bannan/Thomas/Guedioura/Chamakh are all liabilities haven't a clue what he thinks they'll produce.
Unless Arsenal give us an own goal doubt that selection will find the Arsenal penalty box let alone score, hopefully he'll explain the reasoning behind his selection as I'm at a loss to understand it.
