Charlie Adam who was garbage in Scotland has moved for multi million pound deals in England.

The select of the conference has played Highland selects a few times in recent years and hardly been any better than them.

Last season Higdon scored loads of goals, he played for Crewe in England. Griffiths was quality for Hibs, he plays in league one. Niall McGinn got 20+ goals for Aberdeen, year before that he got FIVE in league one for Brentford.

If these are the top players then how bad are the poorest players? I admittedly watch very little Scottish football but i don't think i'm that wide of the mark by suggesting the worst players are conference standard. Would St Mirren beat a top conference side? I certainly wouldn't back them.

'Just realising potential' could be said about any of the players that have come from lower league England to SPL.

The Championship is full of these players that were average/decent SPL players.

Look at Derby for example playing Connor Sammon, Craig Bryson, Johnny Russel, Paul Coutts (highland league player in Scotland).

I think you're missing my point completely JamDav, i wasn't saying that the entire SPL is on a par with the conference. I was saying that some of the poorest players in it are conference standard.

When complete nobodies in the lower leagues in England like McKay, Higdon and McGinn can go to the SPL and score week in week out then that shows you the level up there. So if players from leagues one and two in England can flourish there then it stands to reason that the lowest level players would be conference standard.

And for every player who's come down south and done well there are more that have gone the other way. Stokes did nothing in England, Hooper came from Scunthorpe, Commons was an average championship player with Derby. Matthews came from Cardiff. Richie Foran played for Southend and Darlington, John Sutton played for Wycombe, these are all regular SPL players.

You say Aberdeen are championship standard yet their regulars include Scott Vernon who played for Southend and Colchester, Greg Wylde who couldn't get a game at Bolton, Michael Hector who was at Cheltenham last year and Calvin Zola who signed from Burton Albion! Yeah they're really good!!

I can list plenty of players that are playing at championship level in England that were nobodies in Scotland players that had come from the highland league or lower divisions in Scotland.

McGinn is hardly a nobody he played for Celtic and Northern Ireland and played for Aberdeen as striker and not a winger.

Teams like Blackpool and Derby have SPL players that were no great shakes.

As for the worst SPL players being poor enough for Conference standard that would apply to Championship and many league one teams also.
