Think its a joke making you bet  more to apologise for not being able to bet on Saturday ! and why cash out on a decent winning position , the 20% just about covers the loss you would make if you let it ride

Who uses a cashout? Most people left on the forum would be professionals who trade out if it's necessary and have no need to ever use the cashout nonsense.

Why not sort out the betfair sportsbook and have a long hard look at the pricing structure for the exchange. That would have been more useful.

When I looked at cashout when it first came out it was like some bizarre loss making random number generator.

I take it's not improved?

I just cant belive it, betfair offer a promotion to compensate people for the technical difficulties over the weekend, then the promotion suffers technical difficulties, you cant make it up.Crazy
Report Just Checking September 17, 2013 9:50 PM BST
LOL they've put up a customer services post about Cash Out Issues. "We are currently experiencing disruption to Cash Out on the Sportsbook."

To recap : they put up a special offer on Cashout on Tuesday because their system crashed on Saturday. And then their Cashout system crashes on the Tuesday during the special offer that's compensation for their system crashing.

You really CAN'T make this up ;)

fantastic that the issues have now been resolved 25 mins after all the games anyone was betting on have finished.... uncanny resemblance to the suspend monkey suddenly being locked away after 2 goals have gone in in the 89th and 92nd minute as so often happens...... if only it wasn't customers' actual money that was being basically robbed from them.............

Cash Out is exactly the same as the Lay button, except the 'computer' does it for you and levels up every possible outcome to the same return.  In other words... it's pants.

First time I used it I cashed out on a golfer, thinking I'd just be laying the golfer who I'd backed that was now trading a lot shorter.  But no, all my golfers were cashed out and low and behold, one of the ones that was a bigger price at the time I cashed out went on to win.  It really is crap.

Simple advice is this.  If you want to lock in a profit use the LAY button and do it yourself.  Cash Out will be gone very soon as I'm pretty certain someone will come up a legal arguement to say it's actually not even fair!
Report Marcce September 17, 2013 10:19 PM BST
I suspect that as just about all the firms offer some kind of incentive for the first week of the CL, Betfair were going to offer this anyway. Then when Saturday's issues occurred they thought they'd offer it as a gesture of apology as well.

The thing is that's probably led to more people trying to use it than normal and led to this latest crash.

Just read the promotion and it's not much good for me. I arb and have to try and lose as I'm close to the premium charge and if I bet on the sportsbook and win they cut my stakes each time so I don't bother with it.

It is a compensatory offer for non mugs V El P.  If you had been working a book and got it square and green then all you have to do is press that yellow button for the bonus. You just have to opt in and then remember to do it.

Applies to today too.

I could have pressed that little yellow button last night for the 25% profit uplift but completely forgot. A mugish lapse.
