I've done this before but got carried away and broke my own rules.  I have booked a fortnights family holiday in August next year for my birthday and am looking to win £2000 spending money.  I have been testing this not-in-the-least-bit-ground-breaking strategy for 5 and a half weeks and grown £35 into £114.  The plan is to win 1.01 profit of balance a day / market minimum.  I will be mostly using the in-play football markets that I can watch or listen to, maybe a bit of F1.  Rip me to pieces if you like but this blog is to keep me motivated and keep track.

It will take up a fair chunk of your time each day, then after three months of winning the next day you will lose the lot on a 1.01 shot losing!  Sorry.
Report 666_v July 28, 2013 1:20 PM BST
1.01s don't take a long time if you choose correctly. You can lose of course but with a tiny bit of luck and the right picks it isn't too difficult

Criticism welcome.  Bobsyboy.  It took me a grand total of around 3 casual minutes today to make over the 1.01 trading with  only £10 over several bets.  I know what you are getting at though and I agree totally.  666_V, cheers for the optimism and themover I guess you've seen it all before - as have I!  I will post actual markets / stakes and results from tomorrow.

Not sure you are going to take 1% regularly backing that sort of market.

Hate to piss on your parade Ash, but that bet was ( fill in with a bad word here ).  Yes, it won.  But come on.  A penalty, an own goal, a defender falling down, one well placed head off a set play; and you lose.  All 1% bets are not equal.  Some 1% bets are actually more like 500 to one shots.  I suggest you bet on those.  Anyway, at least you have a plan, I hope you have the courage, patience and discipline to stick to it.  Good luck.  You can do it.

What can go wrong?

Seriously, at 3pm each Saturday, back the favourite in the evening Premier League game if it is one of the top 6 sides vs a bottom half side. Then trade out at 5.18pm. People chase. You would likely make about 3% per time. Probably a lot safer than this.
Report pauliow July 29, 2013 5:18 PM BST
I've been backing 1.05 and below for a while now, mainly on over 6.5/7.5/8.5 goals and its gone well. At least with this method you can get out for a small loss if it starts to go wrong. I get out if I'm going to lose 10% of my bank knowing that I can get it back with 3 or 4 bets. Good luck I'll be watching this thread. Discipline, don't get greedy.

just lay oz in the 3rd ashes tests, its safer than backing 1.01

Thanks all for the comments.  I have been there before as I have mentioned and lost with last second goals.  Anyway, I will press on regardless!

Not much going on at this late hour. Only had a little tickle earlier on this evening.

just get on the blower to ocean finance and stick 10 grand on 1.09

one good technique is to go on the cartoon derby racing, or whatever its called, see which one just won and lay it in the next race for 2 grand.

75% chance you just made 2 grand in 3 minutes.
25% chance you just pissed away 6 grand on cartoon racing and feel like the biggest **** who ever lived.

75%... i like those odds! Laugh

It's a piece of cake to do this with the right attitude but the 'aftertiming' angle spoils the credibility. Just for the record, I think the record for consecutive winning bets in this price range is 442 { proofed } although not done on here.
