£15 online I think.

Just looked at the ad again earlier CC, don't think it says anything about £15 online though.

BTW, be warned. If taking BT Vision, they cannot yet supply ITV in HD outside of England - i.e., certain ITV franchises such as STV, Ulster etc etc will NOT be in HD. No idea why.

Confused I was just responding to Sideshow as he seemed puzzled that he couldn't get BT Sport despite being a Sky customer and having 'a BT line' . The Sky customers who can get BT Sport without any BT broadband/phone subscription will get it through the Sky dish which he doesn't have . And the 'BT Line' is just something that was originally BT that Sky have taken over , so not something of any use in dealing with BT unless he wants to move his phoneline back to them , which he clearly don't.I think Ayers was just saying that BT have to give over space and equipment at telephone exchanges to Sky/Talk Talk et al so in that sense they do 'have to share' (the telephone exchanges) .Once Sky or whoever else are providing the line then it is a Sky line really , though referred to as 'BT line' just to distinguish them from Cable telephone lines.

Accessed today for firstime, took  couple of minutes and insited I installed something called "SilverLight" this is some software to do with DRM. It did give you the option to disable it, but if you select that then BTSport doesnt work. Not sure what this is, Im a bit suspicious its going to monitor by activities online ie viewing illegal streams. Did a google for it and couldnt really find much about it other than its poorly thought of by most and Netflix dumped it. Oh and BTSport has ads :(

But I ordered anyway simply for the Serie A & Bundesliga, they only have about 36 EPL games so cant really see the attraction there tbh.

They should get Boxing, and PDC darts included as well.

I have tried to sign up to BT Broadband as I was looking to upgrade my Broadband to Fibre Optic and the Free BT sport swayed me towards joining them. However, it has been a complete nightmare. FInally an order worked and its in progress but we will see. I think if I cancel it will cause more problems so I am just going to carry on and see what happens! sky sent letters out to people with old thompson hd boxes a couple of months ago,
they offered them brand new boxes free of charge as the thompson boxes cant take the new pairing method.
they have since sent reminders out to people who have still not swoped saying they will lose premium channels in august if they dont swop .
you may just lose hd but my guess is you will lose all premium channels.

the only fix i see is for your server to use an old sky sd sub, apparentley there are still around 3-4 million customers with these boxes no way will sky be giving free upgrades to these folk as they would have to drop their £10 hd charge.

tbf BT have no option but to charge per box , or else people would take the piss.

Sky require multi room customers to have all the boxes connected to a phoneline so that the box sends a signal back to them , proving that the box is in the house. If they don't get the signal when they check then , eventually , they will start billing the customer as if he has several separate accounts: instead of, say, £55  for main room and £10 for the extra one, they will bill him £110.

BT can't check the sky boxes like that . So if someone phoned up, gave BT his Sky viewing card and then gave them 3 more for his 'multirooms' ..... BT may have just connected his dad's house, his brothers house and his mates house all for free . People would latch on to that pretty quickly and BT would be pissing away a lot of the fortune they've spent on these premier league rights.
Report jarvis8 August 3, 2013 3:37 PM BST
thats fair but when sky install sky+ and multi room they put old box upstairs or where you want it with viewing card in it,surely bt have a way to get bt sport to the tv you want.
Report tobermory August 3, 2013 3:41 PM BST
I guess you could phone BT and say you made a mistake and maybe they could cancel it on one card and activate it on the other , but they may have a minimum (31 days probably) before you can swap.

Alternatively if you phone sky technical and tell them you want to use the BT Sport viewing card in your other box they would be able to 'pair' the cards , so you could have the BT Sport card working in the box you want.

i,m sure a sky dish off ebay,an old sky box and a multiroom subscription gets your old man down the road away

1st Time Poster, yes there are many people who do what you do , and far more who have the boxes in their house but don't bother connecting them, and have yet to incur any penalty for it.

But people do indeed get charged full subscription for extra rooms , i have seen many of their bills , and they complain 'i've had it set up like this for years!' but SKy are within their T&C rights to come after people for it , even after years , even if they don't get around to most people.

Here is an example

Bhoys, it's only free online. If you order a BT vision box, it's £5 per month and £49 activation fee.

Stick with your laptop. You can use an HDMI cable from laptop to HD TV and it's virtually the same. Also, BT say they can't supply ITV HD outside of England yet! Crap, imo.
