...then a couple more losses chasing.

Certainly used to be, I realised that the problem was not trying to get more wins, but just cutting out the big losses. I think I now accept a slightly higher loss count, but for smaller amounts. Way too early to say if this is going to be successful, but I'm hopeful :)

Well, luck is always welcome :) but hopefully it's possible to make a profit without actually needing it :) Doing ok so far, but way too early to call it significant

what kind of system/style you working on?
By:
Tibs
When: 02 Jul 13 22:08
Based on laying the draw on home favourites, running the winnings cutting the losses. Not getting greedy, cashing out at half time unless 2 clear goals. Always cash out if it goes to 2 - 1 etc...well that's the basic pattern, but I think you need to choose the matches carefully too rather than just betting on every one.

cashing out for a loss if it's a draw at HT?
By:
Tibs
When: 02 Jul 13 22:13
Almost certainly for 0 - 0, maybe let it run a few mins if there are goals, I try to set a 'hard' loss equal to my stake, e.g. for a £5 lay, then bail out if the available cash out it -£5
By:

well as long as the wins outway the loss. all the best

The ones that used to kill me were when you tried to let it run from a winning position. e.g. I got stung recently in the England - Iraq youth game. England were 2-0 up with 10 mins to go, then Iraq get one back and you think no way will they equalise, of course they did and I lost about 5 * my stake. That was an expensive lesson, should have cashed out as soon as it was 2-1 for a small win, but still a win
By:

so small stakes, no chasing, up overall?
By:
Tibs
When: 02 Jul 13 22:21
For now, just small stakes. Definitely no chasing, never, nothing good happens quickly in this game :) I'm ramping up the stakes as the bank grows, and cutting it if it shrinks. Keep stakes at 5% of bank. Up at the moment, but way too early to say it's successful long term.

Like the idea... Till the bank is "high enough"
Is this your style?

compounding...thats the way to go tibs
By:

When: 02 Jul 13 22:55
Yes, and it's not that fixed anyway, although generally I increase the stakes as the bank increases, I don't always bet the 'full amount', depends how confident I am, what's the market like, can watch the match live etc. Sometimes I just put a minimum bet on with the intention of letting it lie for 15mins and perhaps cashing in for a small loss if it hasn't done anything.

does anyone bet on another goal in games when odds get to evens, usually around the 75' mark?

Don't said "imbeciles" make you rich?

I've read lots "omg, they killed trading", yet odds were never this good for traders to lay... because of all Barcelona and Bayern FOBT-style players, league odds have been like 1.08 which is ridiculous, yet you complain...
By:

I did this on the Portugal vs Ghana game, when it was 2-1 they was no way they could come back & they did out of no where.
