he was, it was whelan who decided against backing his requests for new training facilities and big injection of cash in the academy - it was expected that whelan would comply with the reqest, alas not, therefore martinez said it was time for him to implement his plans elsewhere - no falling out or anything, just whelan not meeting martinez's demands
