Late night Monday action from the best league in the world. Tigre were knocked out of the last 16 of the Copa Libertadores in midweek when they lost 2-0 away to Olimpia and it seems to have a feeling of "end of an era" for this small club. They have been over achieving these past two years - challenging for the league last season, reaching the final of the Copa Sudamericana and then reaching the last 16 of the Copa Libertadores. Not a bad achievement for the club that has been in the 2nd and 3rd Divisions mostly for the past few decades. But they need to start picking up points in the league or they will be in trouble again in the Averages table next season. After resting players against Racing last week, the regulars will return for Tigre. With Newell's dropping points this weekend, Lanus can go joint top tonight with a win. Remember goals don;t count in Argentinian football, if they finish tied there will be a play off to determine who the champions are. Lanus have stumbled a bit of late and were very poor last week in the 0-0 draw at home to Indepeniente despite playing a lot of the game with 10 men. Chavez will replace the suspended Pizarro in midfield and that should make Lanus more attacking. And striker Blanco will be dropped tonight after some iffy performances. He will replaced by young and talented Benitez. I can't help but think Tigre's Libertadores elimination could take some time for them to get over. They had to start their season earlier than most in January. Plus they had to play in the Libertadores right from the qualifying rounds. To put it into context Tigre have had to play 10 more games this season than Lanus. They have a small squad and they are missing their best player in Ruben Botta. Lanus have been nowhere near as good as they were earlier in the season but they are still undefeated and they have extra motivation after Newell's dropped points at the weekend. A win puts Lanus joint top tonight and I expect them to achieve it. Not from their recent performances. But mainly because Tigre will be tired, disheartend and disjointed. Lanus to win
My angle is goals in this game and think Over 2.5 is worth a go at near 6/4.
Just think the odds are too big and the reverse fixture did finish 4-1.

Good luck SirFresh. Remember Botta is out for Tigre and he is their best player and a very good striker. But if Tigre score 1st the game will open up as Lanus will have to go for it

Tigre started the better side, Lanus dominating now but their finishing is ****. Hopefully Tigre are running out of steam after their Libertadores exploits.

And the spider is like the one from Lord of the Rings. Pisses around for hours without doing anything where it actually hurts.

running out of words to decribe how poor it is, yet the argentines seem happy with it, big crowds every game for the standard being served
