he was instantly put in as fav for the Millwall job but he's out to around 20/1 now.
It would have to be a big club for him to jump ship again I'd have thought.

Thanks for the replies re Howe. I met a friend of mine last evening and he mentioned it, although he couldn't be sure who the side was, other than that it was a Championship side (Millwall?)
okeydokey, re the stats you ask about, it was from an article I read some time ago and I don't have any figures to support it although the piece did. Sorry.

I like Howe, and was impressed with what he done with Bournemouth first time round, but his second spell was built on having a significant amount of money, both in wages and transfer fee's.
I fully understand money isn't everything, but more and more it is becoming arguably the biggest factor in determining league position.
Soccernomics if you like, but at low level football budget can and does, a lot of the time, make a difference.

LOL Moisok...you obviously haven't seen the style of football played this season down at Dean Court. We have a Russian as rich as Abramovich who doesn't like to shout about it like our Chelsea man. A few new signings (hopefully starting with Charlie Austin) and I think we will be just fine.
Yes this could all go pear shaped in a few years like Pompey but at the moment we are enjoying every minute of it.
As for Eddie...he won't be going anywhere for a while.

As Bournemouth fans, especially what's happened in the recent past, and with what as has happened close by with Pompey, are you happy with the short term success, or is there genuine concerns for the mid to long term future of the club?
Admittedly I don't know a great deal about this Russian fella, but I read the stories about his wife. Not sure how true it was or if it was glammed up for the press.
The thing is, it's Bournemouth. They're not going to make the PL. I don't want to sound bitter or twisted, but as a Tranmere fan who came close to the Greed League, albeit a while a go, I can't think of anything worse than selling your soul for a taste of it.
Don't get me wrong, I wanted it then, but if truth be told, I was more than apprehensive about the thought of going up to the Championship this year.
The gap is so wide, and getting wider, that's it's a scary proposition for a club of Tranmere or Bournemouth's size (even with a little investment, as in the Cherries case)
Being the next Barnsley (no offence) will surely lead to the Russian fella getting bored, that's if you can stay up a handful of years, and as mentioned, Pompey have proved how easily owners can get itchy feet when a club that is unsustainable try's to punch above their weight.
I have nothing against Pompey, but I feel they should have took the Chester route, and reformed and built form the bottom up. I suspect there are an awful lot of people and small businesses that have suffered while Pompey are still allowed to pay footballers silly wages (which they did the season just gone) and were allowed to carry on, when in just about every other business would have been closed down. Administration for the best part of a year is a pish take, and football needs a high profile club to fold because of financial mus-management to give the rest of the FL a kick up the arse.
I actually thought the ITV Digital collapse would shake clubs into reality, but there's been so many f... ups since, I actually think football clubs believe they're beyond the rules.
Good luck to Bournemouth, and enjoy the good times, but I won't be throwing any money into the collection bucket when it goes t1ts up.

one thing about greedy players and i am not being racist here,as there are players from all divides, but it never ceases to amaze me,how well jewish players playing in england, fare financially. They must have very good agents, they always seem to have good contracts that they maximise somehow.
The mention of pompey being a good example, the last player out the door was the israeli (can't think of his name),who still insisted on full payment despite the club being on its knees.I can recall other similar scenarios also.
