I've gone from avid frustration to apoplectic rage, now it's just total indifference.  I watch Manure parading the PL trophy tonite, there you see Fergie with Bobby Charlton alongside Scholes ang Giggs. Continuity, past and present, knowing the culture of the club. What we have is a monument to you. Look around, why aren't our past great players involved at the club, Viera, Bergkamp, Adams, Wright, Keown, these guys would not tolerate the slide into mediocrity. Arsene, you are a great man, a great manager, but your weakness is vanity. Football is a ruthless business, weaknesses, without any corrective measures, are exposed and cruelly pummeled. Whatever the result Tuesday night, it is time for you to go, thanks for the memories, good luck in the future.

With much appreciation,
Max

My thoughts on the Emirates Cup

Ramsey, looks a much better player now, fitter , stronger, big season coming up for him.
Walcott, seems able to carry the responsibility of being a major player now.
Szczesny, should be our goalkeeper and backed 100 per cent.
Jenkinson, I like this kid, if Bould works with him will develop into an excellent RB.
Koscielny, world class CB now.
Giroud, not good enough.
Podolski, becoming exposed now, difficult to know what to make of him.
Sanogo, a gangly kid who needs a lot of time to develop.
Miquel, a typical Wenger blindspot (Denilson..) how he gets in the squad amazes me, slow, unathletic, no aggression, Barca dud.
The squad without TWO big signings will depend on the failings of Liverpool and the spuds if they are to finish fourth.

Fair point quin , but also to be fair to the op he's missed the point about how Wenger operates.

AW continually frustrates the supporters by making decisions that are definitely unpopular in the short term with the fans but are often proved to be in the long term best interests of the players and the club.

( e.g. Ramsey slagged all last year. Song booed off at Charlton ,  Eboue booed off - all to come good eventually )

He sees these players day in day out and knows x 10  what the average fan sees or knows

It's not an exact science - but Arsenal have a smart bloke at the helm and this season could be the year when it all comes right - now there is a bit of self-earned money to spend to compete with the " owners train-set " clubs  at Man City and Chelsea Whoops

Ramsey was pretty awful last year. He shouldn't have played most of those games, he wasn't good enough. We didn't have a deep enough squad.

Arsenes weakness is vanity yes and idealism, he has no pragmatism. Never clearer than in the panicked deadline day signings of summer 2012. And tbh we were lucky to get Ozil this year.

Report max stirner April 6, 2014 11:43 PM BST
A disgraceful performance and confirmation that we're staring into the abyss of failure once more. This is a club with an old tired manager, owned by a silent absentee landlord, run by business minded people who voraciously exploit our corporate clientele, the burgeoning middle class fanbase, and the lucrative foreign market. This squad is as feeble minded as the manager, they lack physical strength and tactical organisation, the boys are just ticking along uttering the right words, parroting a manager who increasingly looks like he should be locked up in the basement (if he was a member of the royal family he'd be there already). Arsene should be given a gold watch, applauded for his great work at the club then escorted from the Emirates because I get the feeling he wont go voluntarily. Time to get out of town Arsene.

With unabated rage,
Max

If Wenger is paid £7m a year to manage the club's finances, then that is a great point you make there.

Quite clearly the players do not believe in the manager's methods, like Steve Bould they're just picking up a paycheck. When you see Flamini muted, the BFG heartless, and Bould nonchalant, you know something is seriously wrong. Wenger sat through this latest debacle like a man aware that his role at the club is about to reach its conclusion, it was not the befuddled bewilderment we saw at Anfield, or the bemused dejection at the Bridge, this was an empty acceptance of his predicament. What we have now is a weakened manager attempting to salvage something from a wrecked season because Europa league football will be a disastrous legacy. The only positive news is we face some pretty poor teams who our flat track bullies should handle. Many Arsenal supporters now are, like their manager, tired and dejected, we want it all to end Arsene.
