With only 7 league games left Newell's now the importance of a victory tonight in order to go back to the top of the league. Newell's now know every point is a prisoner. They have a massive game in the Copa Libertadores during the week but being 1-0 down to Velez from the first leg they won't take it easy in the league game tonight. Three points is a must for Newell's.
Godoy Cruz are only 6 points off the top of the table and they know a win tonight keeps them in the hunt. They have had a good campaign recently and can be confident of gaining at least a Copa Sudamericana place.
Godoy Cruz are undefeated away from Mendoza this season with 3 wins and 3 draws on the road so a trip to Rosario won't frighten them.
But Godoy will missing David Rameriez tonight and that is a huge blow to them.
Newell's had a massive set back with a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal on Monday night and they will be determined to bounce back and go back to the top of the league. On form they are as good, if not better, than any other side in Argentina.
Godoy are stuffy and won't be easy to break down but Newell's are better and I expect them to win.
I have had a large bet on Newell's to win but I've also covered the 1-1 draw as a correct score. Both teams have met 11 times before, 9 of the them were draws, 6 of them 1-1. The last three meetings between both these teams were 1-1.
