On the basis that i would rather someone abused me for the colour of my skin than bit me, i'd say yes biting someone is a lot worse.

can we assume that anyone else who gets a ban for 'violent conduct' for the second time will be getting bans like this 
already got a 7 match ban for biting..fa had to give me more as hes recommited clearly not learnt his lesson first time

AS CR says, in deciding this punishment they'll look at his previous since coming to England. There's no comparison to be made between biting and racism.

well Suarez would have needed to have broken the skin first
The FA took into account the 8 match ban for racism. Hence this one being longer.

i'd personally rather have the bite with no skin break (so in reality, very little more than a nibble) over someone shouting abuse at me 
more so i'd rather you bite me than elbow me in the face, headbutt me or go 2 footed at my knees, all crimes that are deemed lesser than this
tbf if i shouted abuse at a black man id expect a lot less of a sentence than if i ran up and bit him, so yeah its worse imo
