I am expecting all three games to finish over 2.5.
Lazio have been very strong at home in the EUL this season, their only blemish the draw with Tottenham in the groups. Fenerbache have also been most impressive away from home in the competition, winning all three group games away at Limassol, Marseille and Moenchengladbach, as well as Plzen in the last round. With the score 2-0 to the turks you have to imagine Lazio will go for it bigtime. Fenerbache look very likely to score and are in superb domestic form. Has to be over 2.5. My prediction would be 3-1 Lazio.
Basle v Tottenham. With Spurs needing to score, and Basle imperious at home in this competition, again goals look a dead cert. The first leg was 2-2 and it could easily be the same again. I can see this being 3-2, and wouldn't like to guess which way it would go.
Newcastle v Benfica. The geordies are 3-1 down from the first leg, and they have nothing to lose here whatsoever. Benfica are riding high in the Portugese league and are unbeaten in domestic competition for more than a year. Their only two defeats this season both came in the CL away to Spartak and Barcelona in the group phase. They will definitely score and could run riot if Newcastle are as shaky at the back as they have been at times this season (the first leg just one example). Having said that there will undoubtedly be a brilliant atmosphere at St. James's and it is one of those grounds where anything can happen. Benfica will no doubt sit back and defend their lead, but should be good for at least one goal on the counter-attack. I can see this being 2-2 or maybe 2-1 Newcastle.

Not so sure about the Spurs bet.
Basel don't need to win and Spurs without Bale are more toothless than Barcelona without Messi. |

I don't disagree with you, I just think that with Tottenham needing to score the game should be relatively open. Bale is a loss but I still see goals here for sure. Best thing would be an early Basle goal as this will make Spurs chase them game rather than play cagey and hope for a 1-0.
