ye it just cost me trading on unders in colon game.

3 out of past 4 weekends betfairs crashed. This doesn't make sense for a company of this size, must surely be security issues or some form of hacking..

Guess we will never get an answer, like we dont get support when theres an issue.

Nah its happening too often recently for it to just be glitches with the site.
We haven't been informed of any updates that are taking place have we? therefore betfair should be held responsible for costing people money... They do understand people use their site as a form of income don't they? Confused

I also would expect them to understand people use it to trade, if they wanted to place a simple bet they can go to any bookmakers, so once things like this happen markets should be voided.  Its unfair on people who use it to place a bet and not trading, of course it is however you can't have people who trade being cost serious amounts of money because their site is poorly run..  Only solution is to void the markets.

BUT I forgot Betfair won't do this because they need their commission.

and it would be distinctly unfair to have a winning bet voided due to a server error.

if your desperate to trade go to www.lite.betfair.com and do it there.

Steview84 thats what I am saying, its unfair to void a winning bet due to a site crash however they have to also take into consideration the people who use betfair as an income! Its unfair they could have their live ruined due to the site crashing.  Betfair is a trading exchange so surely they need to realise people TRADE on their F**king website, not just bet.. therefore if you take away part of that feature its going to mess things up for people..

Its harsh to void a winning bet BUT

At least nobody loses then, all that is lost is "potential winnings"... and in terms of the bigger players, take into consideration someone who was maybe trading 20k on a game, site goes down and... CrazyCrazy

anybody trading for a living wouldnt be in a position to have their life ruined, go to the lite site if your desperate, easy.

Are you sure about this above statement? Confused

well, anybody who trades for a living successfully.  why would you risk your living on a couple of markets? senseless.

its got nothing to do with trading or not, point is your charged a commission in order to provide a service, if that service isn't met or provided , then you should as a company provide recompense - its a simple legal argument. The fact this has cost me a significant amount of money, I'll take up with customer services. Simples.

Chris let me know how you get on. I expect it will be similar to my 2 issues I have raised with them before, waiting on call backs for both of them (see site feedback thread if you want to see how poor they are) and probably be a similar answer to what I got when i complained about it couple weeks ago with the outage..

I'm still convinced this is security problems with the site being hacked, Betfair won't give us reason to believe otherwise.

yes just discovered that mate, (i say mate because i just spoke to an Australian who knew nothing of any problems ^^, but equally wasn't able to help - are we being transferred to the fosters advert dudes??)

Best way forward is probably to band together as a group, I'm not one to moan about losses - never have been, but this evening the website coped enough to take money of me but everything else was a server error, that is borderline theft, in my opinion.

Happy to give you or anyone who read this my out e-mail and we can approach as a group, and maybe get more of a result ?
