Prayag United had one very big win (10 - 1 vs. United Sikkim), so if we ignore that freak result we're looking at a goal difference of 14:11 in 8 home games.

East Bengal don't concede many on their travels, but they've also gone without scoring on a couple of occasions (4 times in their last 11 away from home). Now this is a hit or miss league and obviously team news will greatly affect the chances of goals, but statistically speaking you're looking at two goals in this match. Historically it's also often been a close encounter: 0 - 0, 1 - 0, 0 - 0, 1 - 1 (2009-2011).

So apparently we've had 4 shots on target (penalty kick included), and 4 goals came of it.

Do these teams have goalkeepers? And if so, are they by any chance bound and tied to the goal posts?

That is of course possible. Both B365 and WH have 2 shots for each team, but the shots off target differ. So apparently each company has their own provider for these data.

Of course all this means very little, as I've noticed that even a wayward cross that wasn't on target but is caught by the goalkeeper is sometimes registered as a shot on target.

Only goes to show that you can't rely on statistics alone -- as my post about only a few goals in this match shows.
