why would they finish top 4, already 5 teams better than them ?
By:
You can add Spurs (H) in the games you were outclassed.
By:
Spurs were on top first 10 then 45-75. Think Liverpool better team other than that. Look at game again if you think different. Think city united and possibly Chelsea are better. We, arsenal are worse. So are spurs who once bale gets found out will be lost. I know he is exceptional but one man teams are always easily snuffed out after a while

Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham
Possession 44-56 Shots 10-15 On Target 4-9 Corners 1-4 Spurs coasting before gifting equaliser and winner with horrific backpasses. |

spurs gifted them 2 goals

that makes a pleasant change, its usually the other way about.

dont forget everton away where legit suarez winner was flagged offside

Good chance Suarez will be snapped up in the summmer following another season in failing to get in the CL imo
By:
Think Suarez could stay for another crack at getting into Champ League with Liverpool. If they fail next year hes off

By:

Don't forget that "goal" came from a fantasy free kick. |

Just think Rodgers has a clear plan and is improving. Dalglish had a plan fair enough but it all hinged around an unproven Carroll

plenty of youngsters starting to develop=many made the u-21 england squad

rodgers only has one plan.
and its not clear. he tried to play his way with the wrong players and has changed slightly to try and suit those players. after his winter signings came in he changed to try and accomodate his best players (downing ha ha). but imo has now compromised a better formation....that formation was ok but no the best. now we are something like 4-2-4 and in the last game he played 2 non defensive midfielders in the 2 ![]() basically he is still learning his trade and is a complete novice at this level. witht he last change i think we have to wait and see how he changes things again before we will know if he will make it here. that was a truly bizzare way to change things. imo he doesnt know enough about the game yet and should have spent a few more years building a side before he came here. |

Spurs are a 1 man team but Liverpool aren't ![]() |

By:
Liverpool can push on next season they could grab that 6th place, that's all there fans want, they know there place now.
By:
I think in terms of consistency,Spurs are a good way in front at the moment but it's certainly not something for Liverpool to overly concerned about because it's something that will improve with a much more settled squad next season.
You have to think Utd and City will occupy top 2 next season and whilst i wouldnt completely write off Arsenal i think Liverpool will offer a much sterner challenge to Chelsea and Spurs next season. One off games we're as good as anyone but you cant expect top 4 when you play like we did first half against Southampton. |
By:
One off games we're as good as anyone
as long as those one off games are against teams in the bottom half of the league ![]() |
By:
We've been the better team against Utd,City,Chelsea and Arsenal(away) this season so when did they have massive poingts recductions and ended up in the bottom half?

By:
oh - you are using the Brendan Rodgers system of possession as opposed to the actual result
5 points out of a possible 21 points in those games doesnt exactly paint a picture of a great record in one off games Surely at some point being the better team in so many games is irrelevant if you are not winning any ?? |
By:
I agree with the OP that Liverpool's general play seems to have improved but final league positions are determined by consistency, which is something Liverpool have yet to show any sign of improving.

6th is about where we are at the moment but i'll maintain the gap between 6th and 3rd is absolutely nothing to put fear into the likes of Liverpool and Everton for next season.
The gap between 1st/2nd and 6th is monumentally large though. |
By:
The gap between 2nd and 6th didn't look that large at Goodison ten days ago.
And I think you'll find 7th is "about" where you are at the moment. Someone else (a club that haven't spent £26m on Fabio Borini and Joe Allen) are 6th. |
By:
The gap between 2nd and 6th didn't look that large at Goodison ten days ago.
correct it didnt - but it also didnt look that big on day one of the season when we beat Man Utd 1-0 The problem for us is having too expect our 1st 11 to perform every game - there was an article in the paper this morning saying that Fergie was going to select 2 different sides for the league game on saturday and the cup replay against Chelsea on monday - one side cost £100m and the other £150m - that is the big difference between 1st/2nd and the rest of the league |

Suarez gone in summer
By:
The murmurs are certainly getting louder and you couldn't blame him tbf he should be playing champs league he's wasted at Liverpool, and that's not a dig at Liverpool btw
By:
tbf far more chance of fellatio going int he summer
By:
That's a done deal G1 no doubt about that. But you're fooling yourself if you think Suarez is definitely staying
By:
Players seem more attached to Liverpool than most clubs (eg Arsenal). This could keep him. Can't remember any player leaving Liverpool against club wishes in last 20 years who has left the club and gone onto have a great career apart from Mcmanaman. *Alonso was flogged off the summer before which created a wedge between him and the club - was clubs fault so therefore didn't count him.

Torres, CL Winner with Chelsea, ur right not many others. MO went on to have a great financial career.
By:
50m for Torres looks like great business now. Know they blew 35m of that on the big geordie. Owen did nothing after too
