Best: Either Man City's two late goals against QPR which won me some money but saved me doing my bollox big time, or when I opposed Braga when they lost to Pacos this season and had my biggest ever win.

Worst: First time I ever lost a large amount, DNB on Spain v USA in the Confederations cup. Felt like a living nightmare the next several hours.

Yeah.. heard someone committing sucide after spain won the world cup.. the pal felt so bad that we placed spain dnb vs switzerland

worst was about 2 weeks ago, backed under 6.5 goals in the costa rica v belize womens u20 game not for a lot mind but a lot for me, it was 3-0 at 15 minutes, so 4 goal advantage for me at 23 minutes i backed it, can't even remember the odds but remember thinking this'll be good for a trade at least, got up to make some coffee and something to eat though, came back at half time and it was 8-0, i could cry but sometimes you have to laugh.

First ever yankee/roll up i done was about 16 got 3/4 on the horses only got a few hundred back but got hammered.From then on it was all down hill

Best....seeing an injury time winner headed in when id backed a team @ 208 , 0-2 down with half hour left

I don't really do long odds bets just vary stake depending on my confidence of bet (not huge variance) though I bet on the draw inplay in the 89th minute @ 8/1 when Utd were down 2-1 to West Ham in the FA Cup this year (Utd equalised in injury time)and also did Reading lay @ 1.03 when 4-0 up against Arsenal

Worst was a day in November few months ago I hoped for a quick trade on unders/overs in Levante vs Barcelona, at 1-0 bet under1.5, Barca scored 4 minutes later, then under 2.5, they scored 5 minutes later, then under 3.5 they scored 6 minutes later to make it 4-0! I was livid so bet most of bank on over 4.5 with 20 minutes remain and obviously no one scored.
So then I was chasing and saw that Braga Porto was 0-0 with 82 minutes gone and bet big on correct scores 1-0 , 0-1 @ 5/1, 6/1 ...... Porto scored in the 90th minute to make it 0-1! Great, losses all gone and small profit, but for some insurance with few seconds to go I managed to get some money on the draw @ 10/1.... then next thing I see some Porto douche is 1 on 1 after bad backpass and he makes it 0-2 with last kick of the game

I'm happy to say I now bet through rationale and only leagues/cups I have a relative understanding of and can report a steady profit since then

worst moment way back in 73 put holiday money on leeds in cup final at 8/13 the missus wasnt impressed.

think my worst was in the champions league 2010, I had a big bet on inter against a very poor team at 1.6 I think, they lost. Then to chase I went large on bayern over 0.5 at home, I think up until that point they had not had a 0-0 in 2 years or so...ended 0-0.

or laying a horse at 60-1 for all my bank, then about to green out as the horse hit 80-1 before the off only for the market to be suspended and the horse to win. That was painful.

Worst by far backing plus 0.5 on  Barca match....9k to win 600....Messi misses a penalty in injury time...o-o.

Have had two bets at @95s come undone in the last moment.

First was West Ham to beat Liverpool 3-2 in the 2006 Cup Final.  Did that because they'd recently beaten Arsenal 3-2 in the last game played at Highbury (the one where Sol Campbell walked out at HT).  Gerrard's 93rd min equaliser after West Ham had needlessly given up the ball had me head in hands.

Second was Oosthuizen to win the Masters last year.  Almost went through the roof when he got that albatross in the last round.  Thought it was home and hosed when Bubba went miles into the trees on the play off hole, before pulling out a wonder shot to win it.

Only a tenner on each, so no point in laying either of them off in running.  Each cost me almost a grand.

2k down the pan as the couldn't beat a bunch of part timers.

Best for me was the Anzhi fix at the back end of last year, i'd followed the relentless pile of money and had massively overstaked backing them. Then followed it up by laying the 1-1 in play in the first half then watched as the clock ticked on and on and on, until eventually they scored in the 92nd minute. Relief.

The worst was an Al Ain game in the UAE. I'd gone big on over 1.5 as they are a goalscoring machine but at 1-0 a pen was missed and the game died completely, the minutes flew by and there was nothing happening. Decided on about 70 minutes i would take a red on over 1.5 and go big on under 2.5 to cover it. Yes you've guessed it, there were then 2 quick goals so i lost twice

Best won 2k on Spain winning world cup 2010. Worst £400 on England at 1/4 against Algeria was 0-0 lol. Also being 7k down after one year on betfair wasn't pleasing :)

Best-Had £700 on War of Attrition when it won Gold Cup at 8/1. It was tipped everywhere and I intended to lay it off but price never dropped. For the first time I was going to try and lay it off in running but was going so well I let it ride.
  Backed Mon Mome at 180 and 220 on here when it won the national.
Backed Madison du Berlais at 120 and 95 on here when it won the Hennessy.

Worst- Got wiped out when Ile de Bourbon got caught on the line when way odds-on.

just thought of another, had a huge bet on the nose on ..was it young snugfit or mr snugfit, looked like winning the national, but was collared by either party politics or last suspect, the reason for the vagueness is ive never watched the race since and do my best to forget it..was painful, got 40/1 as well

I've had a good couple of 0.5's come in at the death, max stake on both. Scholes header in the Manchester derby a few seasons back, who would of thought City would of been happy with a 0-0 from the off Screamed so loud when that went in they'll of heard me in Manchester.

Also Alex Songs last minute goal against West Ham, 1-0. Had lost a big one a week before and two in a row would of been devastating. Ran around the house celebrating like a loon with that one

Remember when two 0.5's came in in about three minutes two. Listening to Blackpool 1-3 Wigan on Five Live, done in about two minutes. Whilst the dust is settling on that one they go to West Ham 1-2 Villa where Keane I think scored after about three minutes, amazing.

First time I ever went large on Over 1.5 as well was good, Blackpool 1-3 Arsenal, done so early. One thing you realise as you gain experience though is always be mindful of a great win as it's usually followed with a fall.

Too many painful ones to single anything out, but I've picked so many games recently between high scoring teams with an early goal that have ended 1-0.
Had over a grand on over 4.5 in Barca - Espanyol after it went 4-0 within 30mins.
Losing over a grand before that on an under 5.5 in Spanish lower leagues, between two teams that averaged about 1.6 goals a game, neither more than 3 in a match all season. Was 3-3 after 60mins, didn't get out because I just didn't believe these two mug teams would keep scoring.

To counter the negativity, best was £300 from a free bet on over 4.5 in manchester derby when van Persie scored that free kick in injury time. Also coincided with being positive in all my betting accounts and my highest ever overall positive balance across all accounts.

Best was 100 sovs on Sir Nick @9/1 to win open and a cracker last year at Yarmouth on Semayel ridden by my fav jock Freddie Tylici for Clive Brittain £2.50 w/p win was 470 on here theplace 125 thereabouts instant £1500 profit!Brought back down a bit when i missed Freddie boy winning the next on Emerald Wilderness sp 33/1 !regret that but hey ho.
Worst was a 2k world cup double Eng to beat Swiss and France to beat Croatia in 2002 World Cup group games.Eng won but the French fannied around Desailly gave away a pen clumsily(remember big RON Atkinson got in trouble for calling Desailly a dumb ****** off air in tv studio)anyway think Thierry Henry got them level eventually but they should have won.

Best: Just about all of Euro 2008, including 4 massive correct score bets. Made considerable bank and went on holiday with it.

Worst: Blowing a 4 figure bank laying Jelena Jankovic at the US Open after she was feigning injury, as usual.

best 2 quid  was my 1 and only 1000 winner. on first goal time 20 to 30 in a blackburn game this season at home, taken with 30 secs left and a free kick to blackburn, goal 29.50 odd.

worst about 7 or 8 yrs ago, i had 2222 at 1.01 on a snooker frame on a live bbc2 game yrs ago when player potted the green to make oppenment need snookers, and i took odds as brown went in. 3 failed snookers later, and i was 2 bags down. my 1 and only 1.01 loser, i learned the hard way. the computer went off s8 after and not back on till day after.

I think I'm going to start a thread with accumulators to win HUGE.
I haven't attempted to win HUGE again like that, it's when all the cup games are starting in european countries and you can predict who passes the first round easily and wins on handicaps, OCTOBER time I believe.
The best accumulator win I've had off a small stake since then was £10 winning £800, could've been £5000 easily though, but that is so damn minor to when all the cup games start.
