People seem to be thinking that due to no EPL sides making the final 8 of the CL it will be the norm, far from it.
For the season 2013-14 the EPL has struck a deal worth £6bn from broadcasting, each club is guaranteed something in the region of £175m minimum just for participating in the league.
With that sort of financial backing the clubs will improve immensely, the top players in the world will soon be flooding to England.
In La Liga something like 8 sides are in administration and basically all, bar Real & Barca, have next to nothing to spend on transfers and are on the bread line.
I admit I have enjoyed the past few years when the CL was more open and alot of arrogant British media outlets were put in their place with their ever lasting "best league in the world" campaign but like many things in life, money talks, and the EPL has plenty of it.
Expect huge moves to Man U, Chelsea, Man C & Spurs this summer and we are not far away from seasons like 2007, 2008 & 2009 returning.
Although all this will make the English NT even worse than it is now with even more homegrown players not been given chances, and as an Irishman i'll use the old phrase "every cloud has a silver lining"
the Spanish and some other nations have a huge advantage transfer market wise...they can get anyone they want from south America and other non eu countries if they don't have an eu passport....or rather our government put serious red tape in the way compared to some of these countries.
