Rio Ferdinand will face no action from the Football Association for his push on Fernando Torres during Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

Howard Webb, the referee, had his back turned when Ferdinand appeared to push and trip Torres but it is thought there was not enough video footage to make a definitive judgment.

This follows Ferdinand being allowed to escape with no action after aggressively clapping in the face of a referee at the end of United's defeat against Real Madrid. This was ruled to not be worthy of any criticism by UEFA.

Just consider that reasoning again........

Howard Webb does not consider it to be worthy of a red card!!!

Of course the FA letting him off has absolutely nothing to do with the rumours that Hodgson wants him back in the England squad next week

If only it were players that were in line for a shock England recall that were victim of the 'Manchester United are subject to their own special rules' culture.

Alas, it is the red shirt, not a white, English one that secures the beneficial decisions.

Think about that again.

Howard Webb has watched it again and decided that there is no case to answer.

it seems to me that the only people who think he shouldn't be called to account over this are some [not all] man u fans, and howard webb.

somethintg seriously wrong here.

In fairness, a lot of reasonable United fans will now admit that the leniency that they are treated with, on and off the pitch, along with the decisions that are given against their opponents are a bit of a joke.

Quelle surprise, Rio is recalled to the squad.

Cant help wondering what the media would make of that if it were Suarez.

Speaking of the $hit stirring media, who will lie and fabricate to cause any sort of debate if they think it will sell papers, what have they had to say about this ridiculous decision?

Barely a peep.

Which, of course, is part of the reason that such outrageous bias, over and over again, in favour of this club is swept under the carpet. If you had followed the mainstream media you'd be lucky to know he has been even let off, never mind find anyone questioning it.

Yet other players and other clubs, different story.........

(Ok, sorry, sorry, I forgot. Ferdinand got a ban years ago for being very dodgy and Newcastle got given a soft penalty 2 years ago at Old Trafford. So, you know, the dozens of dodgy favours they get from the FA and refs each season, more or less "even themselves out")

Rio was concentrating and looking further up the pitch, torres stood in his way and should have been penalised for obstruction or booked for diving even.

Rio got lucky (as he did after the Madrid game) but he's not the first player to benefit from the FAs ludicrous disciplinary system which is riddled with inconsistencies.  Get over it conspiracy theorists.

1. A Ford Focus
2. A Rolls Royce
would you treat them the same?

Answer:
No.

United - Rolls Royce
The rest - family runabouts

Get over it.

Rafa's right, give them the PL trophy at the start of the season, then we can all go through the motions. Fergie refuses to shake hands and complains about tiredness, the media blame Rafa and ignore the whining excuse, if that was Wenger the condemnation would be extreme. The Ferdinand situation sums up the Murdoch like monopoly we now have in football, Webb and the F.A are afraid of the consequences.
