Fergie did not want to play this time and Mourinho's decision to stick at 1-1 in the Bernabeau rather than chase the winner, knowing he had Fergie's measure at OT was special .
Ferguson lost it. Red mist over the red card and then trying to emulate Delia with his orchestration of the crowd . Walked straight into Maurinhos arms.

Gutted that we lost last night, but blame has to lie with SAF's tactical ineptitude.
We're told that all the top sides practice for the possibility of going down to 10 but we just lost it completely. Mourinho saw the weakness immediately, went for the jugular and fair play to him for taking advantage of the situation.

Yes Mourinho had Modric on as soon as Nani was off,Fergie was too busy giving the 4th official the hair dryer (which only works in the Premier League) to notice what was happening,Fergie lost it on the night and Mourinho kept his cool.

I thought fergie had got the better of jose, stating before the match that he thought real would score, then dropping rooney and playing more of a 4-5-1. Think jose was stumped until the red card, didn't look like scoring until then

Got to agree Fergie lost it after the sending off.
They could,nt get out of their own half and instead of sending on a defender he kept arguing with the 4th official and winding up the crowd for about 15 mins.
By the time he had worked out changes were needed they were 2-1 down.
Jose won the tactics war and Modric being sent on was a masterstroke.

Before the red Man Utd looked by far the better team. Could easily of been out of sight.
Agreed though after the red Mourinho knew what was needed and Fergie let the red mist take his focus off the game and cost them.

easy to write Sir Alex off, hes still at a very high level, emotions just got the better of him. Same thing happened when Pepe got sent off in UCL 2011 vs Barca Mourinho went nuts, got taken to the stands his side went emotional lost 2-0 at home, and were in effect gone from the UCL, after playing a decent 70 minutes or so in that first leg, the last 20 after the red killed madrid. At that moment everyone went ranting on about how Guardiolas got him and Mou's in the troubles but these guys come back, at least hes 12 clear in the epl, if SAF blows the epl title this year, then you have a point. (hed retire if he lost it lol)

some people watching different game or watching through red tinted specs
Madrid bossed the game from start to finish, were robbed of a goal, and conceded an OG. Now that's unlucky. Nani red card (fully deserved) may have speeded up Madrid's comeback, but they were always going to score anyway.
Mourinho was wrong when he said - the best team lost. Of course he knows that anyway

^ I disagree. I thought Madrid looked fairly desperate for the most part, and United were attacking well for a ''defensive line-up.'' Missed the first fifteen of the second half as I was balls deep on Over 0.5 and was expecting a torturous second half so switched off as I thought Madrid had little chance of scoring and United would take 0-0.
