The lowest ever attendance in the Premiership happened in its first season, on 26th January 1993 when a crowd of just 3,039 watched Everton beat Wimbledon 3-1 at Selhurst Park. This was the lowest top flight attendance since the Second World War. Even big names in the Everton side such as Tony Cottee, Martin Keown and Peter Beardsley could not attract the crowds.

As a Reds fan, I thought Everton would love Wimbledon after 1988 cup Final!

Arsenal had something like 3,500 at Highbury v Leeds in 1965 i think

Game clashed with a European Final that was live on TV , and Live TV Football was an amazing novelty at the time to most people . And Arsenal were sh!t at the time tbh

Maybe the game in 1993 was live on sky and every fcker went to the boozer as that would have been a novelty as well back then.
