Looking like the Velez stitch up last night, late on they crossed and a Velez attacker nearly knocked 2 of his own players down to head it away, it went back in and he headed it away again, it was like that old pools ad.

A bit strange you didn't know what price you got on at.
Nevertheless it is called aftertiming.

Can't imagine that the Benfica fans can be pleased with that performance.  After all there's plenty of other stuff they could have been doing in Lisbon.

This league needs to be investigated.  Last week was strange and now this.

Me?? I redded out about 7 minutes before the pen, it helped me but I'm annoyed at myself for getting involved on the game in the first place and then not going out at half time.

im portuguese and i can tell you fc porto is the most corrupt club here

there are taped conversations of the president buying refs

but since they were obtained ilegally, he cant be judged based on that so...

I get the feeling that FC Porto are going to win the league this season. Not necessarily because they are the best team but I feel it may be fixed. I hate when people say games are fixed etc. but this league has some really weird games sometimes. I believe that last week FC Porto were supposed to go 2 points clear top of the table (when Benfica drew) but weather and other factors didn't allow it (Both those games were very fishy anyway). IF the league is fixed, I would think it's been negotiated between Benfica and Porto only. I could be making all this up in my head but there's no doubting that this is a strange league sometimes.

Why would Benfica negotiate it for Porto to win the league when Porto have won it 8 of the last 10 years.

Porto are definitely the best team.

Don't know Biscuit, as I said, I could be a paranoid git, but it's been very fishy recently. I thought Benfica were supposed to draw in order for Porto to go 2 points clear last week (which didn't work out). This week I thought the same was happening where Benfica would draw.

Benfica drew on the 23rd Sep, which led to Porto drawing on the 29th Sep (to level things)..

Both teams drew on the 10th Feb

Zeze - i don't doubt there is corruption and fixing to some extent, but i'd have thought it was more likely to be fixed so that both benfica and porto could keep on winning. Not for one to let the other team win the league.

I agree, which is why this is weird. I was watching the Benfica game when they drew 2-2 against Nacional, they didn't look like they wanted to score (unless they needed to when they went a goal down). Then later I went on to watch Porto, they looked desperate to win and only for Olhanense's brilliant keeper I think they would have won. Which is the only reason why I think it's negotiations between Porto and Benfica only (and not other teams, otherwise Porto would have won that game against Olhanense). It is weird the way both teams draw roughly around the same time though!

Watch it again.  The attacker is the one holding the defender's shirt (at the left shoulder) and holding him at arm's length as he backs into him.  Should have been a booking for the attacker, not a penalty.  The camera angle from behind the goal line shows it best.
