palace should be to strong.

BTTS looks the best play.
Watford to win if Zola plays a full strength side, not like the shambles at Bristol City. |
|

palace have serious injury problems in central midfield (and they play with 3 central midfielders normally, so this is a very big problem)
they looked absolutely awful in the first half against charlton with a bunch of kids and loan signings in midfield, playing their normal 4-5-1/4-3-3. BUT they looked excellent when kevin phillips came on in the second half and they switched to 4-4-2. phillips movement meant zaha/bolasie/murray suddenly had acres of space, and they could have scored 5 or 6, especially when dobbie/williams also came on. palace at that point were basically playing with 6 attackers. also dikgacoi is back from the african cup which will help. check the palace teamsheet and approach with caution imo. too many unknowns for me. both are definitely very attacking teams though. |

I fancy a lay of watford
|
|
By:
you disagree mr keane?
watford are the top scoring team in the division, palace 2nd in total and 4th in goals per game. zola loves 'sexy football', and holloway is a lunatic who would happily play 11 strikers if he thought he could get away with it ![]() |
|
By:
Not at all...just you say too many unknowns then say that...
|
|
By:
holloway will play attacking football, that isn't an unknown
the unknown is what he'll do with all the injuries and new loan signings they have. palace at the moment are a pretty unsettled team on a poor run. in the first half against charlton, they tried to play attacking football, but the injury-hit midfield was so sh!t that the attackers barely touched the ball. |

Well excited by this frankie s loan army almost unstoppable lately
I'm going in head down Watford everything |
|
By:
Obviously a bit of a guess up here until team news available, but I'm hoping(and expecting Zola to name his strongest side)
He has tinkered twice this season 1st)At home against at the time an out of form Charlton 2nd)Away from then bottom of the league Bristol City And it backfired on him in both matches. Playing against a team tonight who they are up against for either automatic or Play off promotion I'd be amazed and disapointed if he made the same mistake again(especially as I've already backed Watford without seeing the teamsheet ) |

Watford for me

What exactly counts as Zola tinkering ? Vydra is on the bench every other game

A few stats for you to consider,
Only twice in 15 home games have Watford been losing at h/t. In only 3 of their 15 away games have Crystal Palace been losing at h/t. 70% of Palaces conceded away goals have been in the 2nd half. 69% of Watford's conceded home goals have been in the 2nd half. 42% of Watford's home goals have come in the 1st half.58% in the 2nd half. 65% of Crystal palace's away goals scored have come in the 2nd half.35% in the 1st half. 18 Aug 12 Crystal Palace - Watford 2 - 3 18 Feb 12 Crystal Palace - Watford 4 - 0 15 Oct 11 Watford - Crystal Palace 0 - 2 1 Feb 11 Watford - Crystal Palace 1 - 1 9 Nov 10 Crystal Palace - Watford 3 - 2 30 Mar 10 Watford - Crystal Palace 1 - 3 28 Nov 09 Crystal Palace - Watford 3 - 0 28 Feb 09 Watford - Crystal Palace 2 - 0 9 Aug 08 Crystal Palace - Watford 0 - 0 19 Apr 08 Watford - Crystal Palace 0 - 2 29 Oct 07 Crystal Palace - Watford 0 - 2 31 Mar 06 Crystal Palace - Watford 3 - 1 31 Dec 05 Watford - Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Watford have only won 1 home game against Palace, yet Palace have won 4 with 1 draw. Good Luck ![]() |

Tinkering counts as making 6 changes to your normal starting line up in my book.
I like stats and do use them sometimes Daffodil, but I don't think Palace beating Watford in 2005 will make much difference to tonights game. |
