I've done absolutely awful this season. Really poorly.

you can only make it pay if you have an edge, if you haven't don't bet.

Horse racing used to be my most profitable (for at least 10 years), football has replaced it and I find I'm doing less and less horse racing

i'd be interested to know why people who can't make it pay continue to bet 1) a hobby to spend a bit of money on? 2) too far gone to stop? 3) don't keep accounts so don't really know/want to know how much they have lost?

With the inception of in running betting there are more games that have late late goals than ever before, I bet long shots i.e there being a goal in the last 5 mins.

He asked if people are making football "pay", are you saying that the method you stated is working for you or not Tony? Personally I do well on football but only in a limited number of markets with limited liquidity at times so I reach a ceiling in terms of profits I can make. I've been trying to find new ways to profit on football for a while but I've had limited success and much frustration of late.

every outcome has a probability whether its the toss of a coin or a football match, get good at them at it's the Holy Grail LaughWink For example Real at Valencia on Sunday were a good price at above evens, this Wednesday they play again in the Copa and Real are currently 1.78 .... pile in at your peril, they don't even need to win!

Similar to Mr Eboue

Did OK for first few years despite some large losses on shock results, usually lays of long priced away teams

Last 12 months has been very poor - the recent run of 0-0's has cost me a packet

Ive pretty heavily got involved the last year or so and been through the mincer! generally lay the draw and cash out after a draw but nil nils kill you!
i now back nil nil as insurance and aim to cash out to profit but it is very very fraught!
I've seen game heading towards nil nil with serious money laying the draw, cashed out late, then seen a goal, cried! Got back on the lay only to see an equalizer in injury time and cried big time!
Report dukeofpuke January 22, 2013 12:25 AM GMT
just lost £3140 from 5 losers but won 8 winners £765 so well down in that run but overall well up.i had 22 wins for a total of £2100 and before that long winning runs but with losers but still in profit
Report glasmale26 January 22, 2013 12:27 AM GMT
Infact, one more point, if you go down that route then principally you need to avoid the nil nil or indeed find it if you back it, seems to be a nil nil every week in the premiership. I get a kick out of the fact that in any given weekend every premiership game could ofcourse finish nil nil but that would be mental but then again the chance is the same??????? Drives you nuts at times!

I actually was doing okay betting on football but gave up football to spend more time on my golf bets I would say i was probally losing yeah but only marginally had a couple accas and treble save me. Going to start just doing bets ante post on cup/competions like F.A cup Champions league Championship next year

The problem is that traders can buy their money back by sheer weight of numbers if their position is losing, where as most people even those who back on hundreds have to sit it out, and most often trade out during a winning position.

I much prefer the nags where knowing pedigree's is the best angle I have, there is juts not enough NH Turf racing which is my specialty. I won over 6K on Jan 1st Bank Holiday, but very few meeting since, and I do not like betting on AW where you cannot trust the integrity of the racing.

premier league has higher than average number of draws...at 30%...pick another league imo

1 strategy that works well for me is back under 2.5 goals then lay it early into the match
usualy go for 24 ticks some games im out after 6 or 7 mins with 12% profit hedged ( but sometimes i will run it longer if no shots on target early on )

this works well on games where under 2.5 goals odds between 2.00 - 3.20

if the early goal comes generally you will lose 40% of your stake

i have an 82% strikerate with these

the profit is small but it works

this is ideal for those who get killed by the 0-0 final score

I got into a hole through poker tourns and not actually realising how much i was spending. Slowly clawing that money back. Its my mission. Easy to see how much your down so it cant be avoided. When you withdraw it tells you ffs

Not boasting but in the English and Spanish leagues i know as much as most but one thing that lets me down is stupid bets, my P+L is well down over the years. I make money on the gg's just trading, risk free why on gods name do i get involved in footie. Unless i see something clear cut i need to leave well enough alone i feel.
