Again the PC merchants rule the roost.
The man made an honest statement as he saw it. FREE SPEECH |
By:
"we just need the FA to address the issue of how many decisions their refs make against Liverpool and how many decisions we don't get" - Excuse me but how old are you? Bad decisions happen to all teams its swings and roundabouts, that is FOOTBALL! Im only 23 and I know this, typical delusion Liverpool fan "we're crap now so it must be all the refs against us...waaaa waaaa!" PRICK.

at 'supersmith'.Keep up the good work Uk. |

Yes hapless all commentators should say just what they want about all players whenever they see cheating on the pitch. It's not like he's jumping on the bandwagon, only calls certain players cheats and gets it wrong or anything is it?

By:
supersmith's a greedy lad. Just gobbled up all of the bait and left none for anyone else.

He's commentating. He sees something on the spur of the moment and makes a judgment call. No need to apologise. Shows you the mollycoddled world we live in. Pathetic from ESPN.

Made this decision just before the t-shirts went to print.

Guys Im all for freedom of speech, but having freedom of speech has it's limits and also a responsibility to carry with it. Im sick of the bias anti Liverpool FC sentiment that is on a the rise at the moment. It need to be stopped in it's tracks and only action like that above can bring change IMO.
By:
Bias against Liverpool? Are you on a wind-up. The media absolutely adore Liverpool.
By:
Darlo in previous years that might of been the case but the tide has turned and now the press are anti Liverpool.

Most commentators are a joke.
Paul Scholes mistimes his 45677th tackle, giggle giggle, typical scholesy, lets not upset fergie. Suarez has the ball blasted off his arm, lets hang the bstard. |
By:
If only the BBC had the same balls and reprimand Mr Alan Green.
We´ve had to put up with his biased twaddle for the best part of ten years |
By:
Not like the city of Liverpool to force an apology out of someone.

By:
Boris even had to apologise TWICE!
By:
Achtung! God forbid he expresses his views using free speech, **** you Nazi Socialist programming network.
By:
Has anybody from Liverpool asked for an apology? Free speech is fine - anybody that thinks this is PC clearly needs to get out more. I suspect the lawyers have been on the blower as to call somebody a cheat when it is easy to prove that in this instance it was no such thing is slander (not that any action would be taken by LS but that doesn't really matter). If he had said that about a mansfield player then you lot would be castigating him for ruining a player's career! You carry on thinking it's pc though............
By:
i think rumpole and his mates would be rubbing their hands with glee if there was a libel action
![]() |
By:
i suppose it depends on if the mansfield player had been impersonating tom daley for the previous 2 seasons
By:
Spyker - If it was a Mansfield player who got away with a handball winner, the loons on here would label him a hero, & this place would implode with laughter smileys.

In my opinion it was a fair comment, he called it as he saw it. Nothing wrong with that. What happens when a ref gives a yellow card for diving? I'm sure I've heard on lots of occasions the commentator calling the player concerned a cheat, which is effectively what the ref is saying.
By:
With regard to diving, call me old fashioned but 'cheat' has a better ring to it than 'simulation'.
Yuk yuk, yuk. |
By:
In my opinion it was a fair comment, he called it as he saw it.
In that case, he's set a precedent for himself. When he sees defenders manhandle opposition strikers at corners & set-pieces, he now has to balance things up & call them cheats, because that's exactly what they're doing, & he needs to 'call it as he sees it'. |

By:
Mr Meaner spot on, in fact every live game should start with the comm saying..
you are about to watch a load of cheats try and win a game that in reality means NOTHING. by cheating. |
By:
Can't have them telling the truth now can we? Pointing out a cheat is always more harshly punished than being a cheat.
By:
Some really thick people on here!! SMH

This is why our countries commentators are poor and make blanket generic statements.
In America when commentating they are blunt and to the point. If a team is rubbish, or a player is a cheat, they call them out on it. They are after all, commentating on the game/teams. I am fed up of analysts and commentators saying things like he wanted it more...Such a thing is going on about Bradford atm, they are over hyping them, despite the fact that they have won most of their games on penalties. |
