Sweden are set to stick with the figures who recovered so well to earn a 4-4 draw in Germany after recovering from 4-0 down. Alexander Kacaniklic could make his fourth outing for the national side after his impressive early season form with Fulham. Forward Mathias Ranegie could add to his three caps.
England will hand debuts to forward Raheem Sterling, midfielder Leon Osman and defender Steven Caulker while captain Steven Gerrard has been passed fit. Gerrard underwent a scan on his knee but will become the sixth Englishman to win 100 caps. Manager Roy Hodgson's squad has been depleted by the withdrawals of five players including Wayne Rooney and Theo Walcott.

Just can't see England winning this. For the first time I can remember, there's a player starting for England who I've literally never heard of. Who is Steven Caulker?
Shocking state of affairs for the England national team. Have we ever put out such a powderpuff side? We do always seem to draw against Sweden though, so a lay of England is the bet with a few quid on 1-1 |

You know it's a dire state of affairs when that happens. Maybe explains why 6th ranked England are underdogs against 23rd ranked Sweden.  However this is Sweden's first ever game in their new stadium, it would be a good stat to know the W/D/L record for such an occasion for club and country. I can't see too many goals anyhow, sweden are normally dogged and rigid side, and England have never been a side to rack up a stream of goals. Despite good individuals. |
