This is getting on my nerves now. Someone on SSN giving 20% as a figure to work towards. Where does that come from?
Should it be as a percentage of population? Shoud it be a percentage of non-white former players who have played at least one professional game in the last 20 years? Would you include or exlude foreign players from these stats? Would, for example, Bolton be fined for sacking Owen Coyle and actively going after and appointing the sole target for the job, rather than hold interviews? What if they had appointed a black manager without holding interviews? Can we not simply judge people on their ability to do a job? |

Yeah it really p@sses me off this one......why should you be given a job based on skin colour? The black managers that havebeen around lately are terrible, gullit, ince, barnes and O'Connor all dreadful.....nothing to do with colour

dont see many black agents managing golfers not a lot around the mens tennis scene either. and i have never seen a black man rowing. why isn't paul elliot a man who got an mbe for his work as a diversity adviser or iffy onuho(dodgy spelling i know) another advisor asking questions about quotas for these sports. |

I remember not too long ago (early 90s ish) when jobs would be advertised and it would say for example, 2 vacancies of which 1 to be filled by ethnic (or words to that effect)origin.
So 1200 white english, and 100 ethnics might apply. Is this not racist against the white english. Not sure if they still do this, but I thought was disgusting as the best person/s should get the jobs,whatever the colour of skin/gender. The white Englishmen is now the biggest victim of racism in this country IMO. |

According to Wiki, 92.1% of the UK population is "white". Of the remainder, 4% are South Asian (Indian, Pakistani etc) and 2% "black".
The most obvious imbalance to be deduced from the above figures is a distinct lack of Asian players, and the percentages suggest either too many black players, or far too few Asian ones. I suggest Rio gets on the case. |

in my opinion its actualy fairly obvious,its not the % of black managers thats to small but the % of black players far outweighs their abilitys,if half the black players playing pro today were white with ginger hair they wouldnt get a game on hackney marshes

There does seem to be a problem with former black players getting a chance in management jobs.
Although to be honest the likes of John Barnes and Paul Ince hide behind 'racism' as the reason they have failed at top jobs. That just makes the whole situation worse for black managers as clubs may be scared to employ them as they could be branded racist if they fail. |
