CELTIC (4-4-2): Forster; Lustig, Wilson, Ambrose, Izaguirre; Brown, Wanyama, Ledley, Mulgrew; Samaras, Hooper
Subs: Zaulska, Matthews, Kayal, Commons, Forrest, Rogne, Miku

No point playing 5 4 1 or 4 5 1 or 9 1 as Rangers have in past. Lennon gone with Hooper up front with Samaras have lots of pace for break aways. Creativity of Commons and Forrest for Midfielders that will be best used for the amount of running they will have to do. As positive a line up as Lennon could pick which makes the 11/10 for Celtic goal much more appealing.

One way of avoiding hoovering is not to leave money in a market at prices which won't get matched unless you don't want them to do.
Report book October 23, 2012 9:41 PM BST
thats why they have the delay so long,no need for that length of time for a bet to be matched, make sure mere mortals can't get on,no other sport with that length of time for a bet to be matched,so why football ?
Report Hard_Life October 23, 2012 9:41 PM BST
i took a massive red in this match only to get shafted by a late winner
Report lustrumm October 23, 2012 9:41 PM BST
Let me ask you this Dorid, how much did you get matched between 13 and 5.2 before it was suspended? Same as everyone else I imagine nothing
Report songsforthedeaf October 23, 2012 9:42 PM BST
Hoovering is where someone gets to bet having seen the goal, but before the market suspends. So some guy has stuck 10k on Barca @10 and he has already seen the goal.

It completely destroys in play trading on betfair because it means that it is not safe for unmatched bets to be left up. If it happens too much the market will dry up. Its the big traders who lose out.

You might not want to do it yourself but if nobody does it, then there is no in play market.

I'll leave money up at around the current price, but some of the money matched was way below par price. It was never going to get matched unless someone knew something that the layer didn't.

Report songsforthedeaf October 23, 2012 9:47 PM BST
Must be sickening Darlo. Have to say I dont see it happen that much, perhaps 1 in 100 matches, but thats still too many. Betfair should be able to retrospectively cancel any bets placed in the couple of seconds before they suspended.
Report jim smith October 23, 2012 9:50 PM BST

its a cruel game
Report book October 23, 2012 9:50 PM BST
there should be no time delay on any sport,it should be just the same whether its in running or not,hit the back or lay button & bets either matched or not,no waiting time for bets to be matched.
Report Darlo Bantam October 23, 2012 9:50 PM BST
I've seen it several times. I've had it regularly happen to me which is why I'll take money out if I doubt it'll get matched. Though it happens far too much mostly on dodgy matches, but every Champions League I've traded so far, I've known the goal has gone in at least three seconds before the market is suspended. That's not enough for me to get matched, but there'll be others who can get matched.
Report taffkoi October 23, 2012 9:54 PM BST

I know a guy who lives literally next door to Aberdeen's stadium Pittodrie. He's made quite bit on in-play betting on their matches based upon crowd cheers for goals that he can hear from his flat. Once they were playing on a Friday night at home to Hibs I think, it was on Sky, and he said the delay between the live match and it appearing on the screen was about 10 seconds. Aberdeen scored and were still over evens on here. Suffice to say he piled in and then layed off once the market adapted to the scoreline.

Its surprising how incompetent betfair are at sorting it out. They are lucky to have the number of in play punters they do.

taffkoiwhat if the TV signal and the streams more then 8 sec late, then someone in the stadium can hoover it and its not betfair fault?I know a guy who lives literally next door to Aberdeen's stadium Pittodrie.

Yeah, but the roar from the 'crowd' (all 20),was for the half time whistle.

Sadly, it wasn't me. The coont wouldn't even buy me a pint whilst he was telling me this story of how he'd won money!

By the way, how do you do the wee quote box?

another magnifcent performance from celtic, doing scotland and ireland proud.

I put up a lay bet for £55 @1.11, and this was at least 20 minutes before the late goal. Why have Betfair voided this? Any ideas. Nobody would be backing this AFTER the late goal. I won my money fairly, surely??

Good job the astute fans realised Lennons potential as a manager rather than call for his head first sign of trouble.
