the results tonight tell the whole story, only the foreign players make the premier league any good, our home grown players are only average at best, thats what happens when money dominates ,it chokes the development of young players, and panders to the whims of greedy overseas owners who demand instant success and will scarcely wait five minutes to let a youngster progress, preferring to splash the cash for some big name mercenary signing .

It starts from the top, need to bring in some top foreign managers.

Russia just have and they are flying.

management is 68% more important than players

Listening to the saccharine pricks on ITV there isn't a problem. No matter what you think you saw they would have you believe everything is hunky-dory.

Woe betide the dissenting voice that might derail the gravy train.

I thought Macedonia really showed Scotland up in terms of technical ability

Not one decent player between all the Home Nations

Never mind Scotland, Macedonia continually show England up in terms of technical ability

They are all basically rubbish, especially England having pumped so much money into football to still produce so average if players is amazing.

Rep of Ireland on the other hand massively overachieve, and the 4-1 tonight unearthed alot of new young talent. and its the 3rd biggest sport by participation here, amazing

Exactly how much money has England pumped into football then?  To my knowledge, percentage wise, very little is spent on grass roots football or youth development.

Not enough kids playing it, go to Spain and almost all the tennis courts and football pitches are full of youngsters.

Over here they are inside in the largely sh1t weather playing their play stations.

Can get 30,000 qualified coaches but it wont change it.

this soon after the Olympics I didn,t think I,d have to report that the English football team are so bad......they are ....and it is because they are all paid so much money.......they are PRIMA DONNA ****s who need to be taxed more and help out those of us who are struggling to keep this country afloat!!!!!
Report judorick September 12, 2012 1:00 AM BST
don't see any link in taxing them and making them better players but yes they are bad

and have been made to look totally pathetic in the light of the Olympics, golf , TdF, tennis etc

go to any under 8,10,12 game on a saturday morning and it is all about winning, coaches parents etc going ballistic on the sideline it is mad stuff, kids are conditioned to win but not taught how to play the game,if they lose its all doom and gloom, the enjoyment is gone out of it.
