I decided to create this topic and share my thoughts about Russian football with you. I am not an expert, but I've been watching Russian football for over 15 years now, so it will be interesting to see, how good I am at predicting the outcomes. I will try to give predictions on all the matches with Russian clubs taking part that will be live on betfair. That means I will be concentrating on Premier Division, Division 1 (FNL - Football National League), Russian Cup sometimes, CL and EL matches with participation of Russian teams and official + friendly matches of the Russian national team (blast it!). I hope this thread will be useful.

Today we have got 3 FNL matches live on betfair.
Tom' - Baltika. 15:00. Tom' is a strong favourite for me to win this match and with -1 handicap also. Baltika are peasants this season (as they normally are), and Tom' is certain to use some of their newly signed players. Which means, that recommended bets on this match are: Tom' wins at 1.56, Ov1.5 at 1.38, next goal - Tom' at 1.45, Tom' clean sheet - yes at 2.16. Spartak Nalchik - Ural. 17:00. Ural are not very good on the road, and they only managed 3 draws in their last 3 matches. Spartak Nalchik were terrible in their last home match, which they lost to Neftehimik 1-3 and they will have to rehabilitate. I can see a home win here with 1-0 or 2-1 score. Which means, that recommended bets on this match are: Spartak Nalchik wins at 2.24, Ural lay at 3.75, Un2.5 at 1.71 and Un3.5 at 1.27. Torpedo Moscow - Shinnik. 18:00. Both teams started the season terribly, Shinnik lost 3 out of 4 matches, and Torpedo only managed 1 point out of 3 games. Both teams will need to get the points, so the game should be an open one. I can see both teams scoring here and will give a slight preference to the home squad. Which means, that recommended bets on this match are: Shinnik lay at 3.1, Ov1.5 at 1.43 and Ov2.5 at 2.28, Both teams to score at 1.82. |

thanks for sharing your tips, but u seem to be predicting a fair few goals, which doesnt always fit in well with russian games ive noticed.

Tony, not too many, really, only in the last match, and I think it will be 2 in Tomsk and 1-2 in Nalchik.

I normally play the unders market and Tomsk and Baltika are two teams I tend to avoid. I'd be playing BTTS in that game as Tomsk aren't great defenders and Baltika are very good at taking chances.
Nalchik are unpredictable that will be one that needs to be looked at in-play. I notice that Betfair don't have the Kuzbass v Petrotest game in-play. Playing home win and u3.5 in that one. |

I usually play the Over 4.5 markets with considerable success in FNL. Great standard of football, passionate crowds, exciting attacking play, and above all this league is free of the corruption seen in many top European countries.

Volga Nyzhnyi Novgorod - Rubin Kazan. 17:00. Rubin normally do not concede many goals, as we all know, and on the road they are usually on unders, while Volga always found it difficult to score against top teams. Not sure about a Rubin win, so recommended bets will be: Volda lay at 5.1, U2.5 at 1.65 and U1.5 at 3.05, Both teams to score - no at 1.85. |

Tomsk matched at 199/1 at 0-1 and must have been some short odds matched at 2-1, crazy game. I really must lay off some pennies at 1.01 instead of assuming I was right and ignoring the other outcome. |
