Report henok July 16, 2012 4:55 PM BST
Laughbrucewills why didt you put more. there were enough time, if u knew it was still 1-1
Report ronin4s July 16, 2012 4:55 PM BST
did that seriously pay out?
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 4:55 PM BST
Total disgrace imo. Only a week or so ago, i had a bet voided due to the fact that a goal had been scored before the suspension was put in.
This is no different only that a goal has not gone in. Surely the Suspension should not be lifted until it's certain the goal has been given or disallowed. It happens too regularly to be coincidence imo.
Report Bruce Willis July 16, 2012 4:56 PM BST
I do not know! I thought this is surely a mistake and panicked !!

Did Betfair send you an email to let you know it happened? I had the same experience and only found when by going through my "statement"

is there any rule which specifies this

Report cannonballrun July 16, 2012 4:58 PM BST
layed 1-1 - saw a goal flash up. thought nothing more until 5 mins later realised been chalked off.
backed the 1-1 for minimal loss as was large chunk laying at 3.2 with 10-15mins left
all round a lucky escape !
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 5:02 PM BST
No, i had to email Betfair and ask for an explanation as to why my stake had been reduced. I had put in a lay which was gradually being taken before finally getting all matched. During this time a goal was scored so they voided the portion of bets that were taken after the goal was scored.

What i am saying is that this is exactly the same, just in reverse.

Betfair would quote that it is user beware in this situation. ( Different rules for different times i say )
Report ronin4s July 16, 2012 5:04 PM BST
Ty Mightyfly, I had to spend about 3 hours doing math, using that excuse betfair call a "statement". In the end by Cashout and green numbers had not been reset even though the game played on for another hour. I was trading on their numbers but they werent accurate, so they got to profit from misleading me on the odds?!
Report ronin4s July 16, 2012 5:05 PM BST
I lost £30, I normally only trade with £2 stake at start, so that was huge loss to me.
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 5:08 PM BST
I am very surprised that Betfair don't re-open the markets when they are sure the goal has been given or not. This cannot be too difficult to put in place.
They should look into the £85 matched at 1000 to see who snaffled it all up.( To see if there are any suspicious circumstances)
Report CJ70 July 16, 2012 5:21 PM BST
Have Betfair settled the correct score and u2.5 markets? Other markets have been settled.
Report lybertyne July 16, 2012 5:24 PM BST
if i lose money fair and square then fair enough but there's something fishy about this match.
Report Stringer July 16, 2012 5:36 PM BST
if you were watching the game like me you'd know the goal was offside straight away
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 5:36 PM BST
By the look of it all markets have been settled. But on the basis of this, it's wide open for anybody who's reporting the correct score, or any goals scored or disallowed to manipulate the market.
You'd only need to do it once and have your back in at 1000 to make a killing and bugger off.
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 5:38 PM BST
Stringer.

That may be so, but that does not excuse the fact that the market was re-opened on the basis that a goal had been scored and that it was 2-1.
Report lybertyne July 16, 2012 5:43 PM BST
got most of it back on the lahti match so all good.
Report henok July 16, 2012 5:44 PM BST
stringer, did u back 1-1 at high odds
Report Bruce Willis July 16, 2012 5:48 PM BST
Yes the markets paid out
Slightly expecting betfair to take the winnings back Crazy
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 5:48 PM BST
I'm guessing that whoever got the majority of the £85 at 1000 laid £7500 back at 3.2 on the 1-1, and also laid in the match odds market as it was trading over Evs with 4 minutes left to play.
Report henok July 16, 2012 5:50 PM BST
i think this things happen, the strange thing on this game was the fact prices didnt correct soon enough

agreed

Report henok July 16, 2012 5:51 PM BST
was a nice opportunity to trade between over2.5 and cs
Report mightyfly July 16, 2012 6:06 PM BST
I'd be interested to know whether or not, the over 2.5 goal market re-opened at the same time as the correct score market and match odds market.
If it did not open up at the same time, then the markets were re-opened on the strength of a goal being scored making it 2-1.( And as all unmatched bets were scrapped, i suggest this must have been the case)

Good luck to the guy's who gained from this, but it still doesn't make it right, that the market should have been suspended again and matched bets inbetween the 2 suspensions made void.
Report vinny188 July 16, 2012 6:22 PM BST
Question is who was the unlucky person to lay 1-1 @1000?
Report Stringer July 16, 2012 7:02 PM BST
stringer, did u back 1-1 at high odds

i didn't check the market after the gol Cry Cry
