another celtic legend leaves us, probably woulda played in 67 bar injury, but what a great goal scorer and ambassador for the Club he was. condolences to all

presumably a catholic then?! yeah average age on this forum must be 23 these days Gleddoch before my time too tbh but 54 goals in 55 games for Celtic must have been quite a player as they had a great team then |

Joe McBride scored 36 goals before Christmas  in the Lisbon season of 66-67, beforeinjury ended his campaign, but he still ended up Scottish League top scorer  There is no PROBABLY about it, Joe McBride was an absolutely CERTAIN starter in Celtic's European Cup Final team, had he been fit for selection  He played only 94 times for Celtic and scored an astonishing 86 goals |

My dad is a Hibee and tells me he was a hell of a player.
Not many people on here would have heard of him - certainly before my time as well. I was only vaguely aware of him from my dad's never-ending stories about Hibs' exploits in Europe. Difficult to imagine a Scottish player having a similar career these days. |

Very sad news. Joe McBride was a fantastic centre forward of the old school. Best remembered playing for Celtic and Hibs. Think he started his pro career with Luton and ended it with Clyde. RIP

Great player. Best striker at the tic before his injury. McNeil will always admit that. Greaves and joe were best strikers at the time. Both missed out on making history. Hail hail
