The Spurs players (of all age groups) will start the new season at a brand new state of the art £45m training centre.
There is no point investing in such a centre if the manger can't be bothered to look beyond the first team squad or indeed spend much time doing any coaching himself (both points are well documented as factual).
Levy want's a 'hands on' coach who will actually do some coaching (so presumably we might actually score from a set piece next season).
Of course the main reason for the change is that Redknapp can't keep his mouth shut,showed no loyalty to Spurs when he thought he was getting the England job,and eventually made a huge blunder by publicly announcing he should get a new contract (despite refusing to sign one in Feb when it was offered).
Levy and Joe Lewis decided they'd had enough of his gobbing off and called his bluff.
You mention Terry Connor but Terry Connor was a nobody - AVB has won the Portuguese league,the Portuguese Cup and the Europa Cup (in one season).
Harry has one F.A Cup to show for 25 years work.

Whilst I don't think it was a good decision, I can see what the Spurs management are thinking bringing in a young, ambitious and talented coach. It's certainly a big risk but at least they've got some balls and made a decision now rather than sacked him 5 games in having known their relationship had deteriorated.
A lot of the criticism of Harry from the Spurs fans is very harsh though imo. Not much respect for a bloke who did a good job. They knew what they getting, got bored with it and want something more sophisticated. To take top div's point, It's not as if Spurs have won much more than Harry in the last 25 years.

it's hardly a valid comparison with terry connor. that followed 2 weeks of every tom, d1ck and arry turning down wolves and was certain to be a disaster.
pretty clear AVB's has been spurs man from day 1. might still not work out well but he has a decent track record at porto. be foolish to judge him solely on handling the poisonous dressing room at chelsea

YOu have to wonder of the sense of offering a man a 3year contract when was a palpable failure at a rival club
The main argument I had with Arry was his tactical ineptitude (eg no wins v man u in umpteen attempts) plus the fact he was holding the club to ransom by employing Wayne Rooneys agent (the controversial paul stretford)
For me it was a case of good riddance
Now I'm not so sure
Offering a 3 year contract to Arry or AVB, well its a no-brainer
When it comes to tactical ineptitude, well, AVB's visit to Old Trafford last season (Lost 3-1 and it could have been 33-1) fills me with absolute dread for the late september fixture upcoming
The only reason I can think for employing AVB is that Levy feels he needs a big name manager

haha, got to love these mugs that compare Levy to Abramovich, AVBs sacking clause will be nearer £10 than £10m.
