Well, he certainly lived up to his name - Shrewd1 claimed the £300 first prize in our Euro 2012 competition with a haul of 28 points, thanks to correctly predicting (like 133 other entrants) that Spain would win the tournament. He also had one of the six top scorers, and the 13 points earned added to the 15 he had after the group stages meant he was the clear winner.
SIR_Bond edged second place - thanks to the tie-breaker - ahead of dsmith. Both scored 25 points but SIR_Bond's prediction of 70 tournament goals was closer to the actual total of 76 than dsmith's guess of 58.
However, dsmith gets some additional credit for being one of only two entrants to predict that Spain would beat Italy in the final - and the 15 points he earned for that lifted him into the prize money.
Thanks very much to all those that took part - hopefully it added a bit of fun to Euro 2012. I'll be running regular comps in the football forum once the new season gets underway.

Although it was a good comp and I'm happy with my 3rd place, I think only Torres backers should have received the 3 points for tgs has he was the golden boot winner, otherwise dead heat rules should have been applied, giving only 1/2 point each to anyone who picked any of the 6 players finishing on 3 goals.
