its a single though not a double

Its 2 singles combined really - one that wins outright and 1 thats a 5 way tie

Had £25 on Torres top scorer @9/2 returned  £22.92

was a single that ended in a 6 way dead heat

hmm its a single really i think. cos the double would be a related contingency bet. so the bookies would shirley class it as a special and a single.

sorry - that sounds daft - its a single that depends on 2 eventualities

How can one of my bets win and the other lose even tho their the same bet?

i dunno donny. makes no sense to me.

this happened to me the last time when i had spain villa double..would have won more if i had just done spain on the ir own

sain doesnt pay in full is doesnt make sense i know but i had a row with my locl bookie the last time and said i owuld never do this type of bet again

i got about £75 instead of £435
had about £15on spain/torres at 30-34
happy he scored tbh

Do you expect the layers to pay out on Torres/Spain Gomez/Spain etc etc etc etc in full ?
There are 6 winners in that market, therefore it must be divided stakes.

If you just bet in the top scorer market, that would be true. But when you bet that Spain would win the tournament as well, then a simple 1/6th stakes is not right

IMO you should get your money on Spain at full odds ( £5 x 3/1  = £20) and then take a sixth of those winnings on the price of Torres to be top scorer - which is twice as much as a simple 1/6th stake on the whole bet

It's disappointing, I had on Torres at 18's for top scorer and even though he won the Golden Boot they are still treating it as a dead-heat. I feel robbed tbh I only won a fraction of what I should have. Of course, not to mention if he had played more he would have scored more. I doubt anyone has won a Golden Boot with less minutes on the field.

OK so say the double is made up of Spain 3/1 & Torres 11/2 (3/1 & 11/2 double pays 25/1)

€5 on the Spain bit pays €20.

1/6th of this wins at 11/2 and the other 5/6ths lose so you effectively have €3.33 on a 11/2 shot

€3.33 @ 11/2 returns €21.65

Your reasoning is spot on - except for the fact that Torres is not 11/2 to be top scorer more like 14/1

Not when the 2 bets are related to each other in this instance.
There is no way any bookie would ahve taken the double of Torres top goalscorer (14/1) and Spain to win (3/1).
Hence you got reduced odds on this special double.

yes, OK i see that - its just that if I had my fiver on Torres on just the TGS market - I could have got 18/1, hence £15.83 - whilst getting the winning team as well pays less than £6 more !!

i have just settled with my local bookmaker had a 10 bet spain ,torres top goalscorer 25/1recived a 1.67 bet 1/6 off my stake return=43.42

well - the local indy has paid at the full 25/1 - apparently this was due to Billys paying out full odds as a good will gesture! and he wont allow them to better his odds - happy days

i fully understand torresXspain being a related bet ,but how could gomez x spain  be considered  related and d/h rules be applied over the full odds ?

or was this reflected  someway in  the initial  price ?

2nd euro in a row this has been an issue and doubt it will happen again .

at last euro there was an issue and did  quarral  not settle villa x spain at less than spain outright ?

The Baldy one has offered me 16/1 on this bet(originally 25/1 on the ticket)
They have said its 16/1 due to a formula that their sports traders applied and the date i placed the bet............You couldnt make it up

so some got around 3/1, some got 16/1 and some got full 25's all for the same torres spain double , im confused

Difficult to find a formula for settling it,as these scorecast,or related bets are at reduced odds to start with.For instance if you have a 3/1 shot with a 5/1 shot ,you DON'T get 24/1,it gets reduced to about 20/1 ,or less.

i understand that but the more i think about it getting 3/1 on a 25/1 shot where half the bet was correct seems harsh in the extreme (my brother phoned me up earlier asking me why he only got 3/1 on his bet and i couldnt explain how they came to it, so had a look here and im none the wiser )

I sent a email to ask how they can justify the change,here is the latest reply:

so anyone getting paid at around the 3/1 mark are getting ripped off and dont have a leg to stand on then ?

If Billy paid out in full on Torres/Spain and honoured all other TGS dead heat bets, then they should be congratulated

It must be time for Bookmakers to ensure future competition rules states 'Golden Boot/Winning Team' for this popular bet - as I believe there can be only 1 winner for each entity
