good reflexes and decent shot stopper. Apart from that as solid as jelly

Hart is an excellent keeper and will get over 100 caps for England but I do cringe when English based pundits ignorantly proclaim him as 'the best in the world' on the back of two excellent seasons at City and a good start to his England career.

Overrated - BIG-TIME

inferior to Casillas, Neuar, Cech, Buffon,
so probably the 5th best keeper in the last 8 |

By:
I'd have him ahead of Cech, but agree with you on the other 3 at this stage of his career.

Ultimately he is currently the best England keeper and there appears no one in the wings to challenge him

starting to believe the hype himself now
on the telly everyday spouting sh1te fed up of hearing him |

Buffon was great. He's past his best days. Agree about Casillas and perhaps Neuer. But Joe Hart is the best keeper we've had since Peter Shilton or perhaps Gordon Banks. He has all the potential to be a true great.

Agree that only Casillas and Neuer better. Hart by far and away the best English keeper. Bit confused by this thread ... What exactly has he done wrong?
|
|
By:
Agreed totally elfisio, he is an accident waiting to happen and when it does in a big profile game it could shatter his confidence!!

he's no tim howard that's for sure, at least Tim scored more goals than downing last season.

Fumbles and flaps far too often for me. The best keeper since Gordon Banks my erse. David Seaman was a far better goalkeeper on what Hart has achieved so far.

I was under the impression he's done well considering he's only 25 which is young for a goalkeeper? Who would you rather have in goal right now?

tim howard

By:
I get the impression he is a confident keeper because he is young, not because he is good. There are no good keepers because they are all too tall.

If you are going to slate him then come up with a plausible alternative. If you can't then maybe just maybe you should support him and the team, scary concept I know. Of course, you are all saying this so you can say, 'I told you so' if he does make a mistake. Please let me know what he's done wrong to date ..

HE'S NOT EVEN THE BEST GOALKEEPER IN MANCHESTER SO HOW CAN HE BE THE BEST IN THE WORLD ?

I'm glad someone put up this thread, I was starting to think i was the only person to think hart was overrated. I'm not saying Hart can't become world class and be a top keeper for years to come but he seems to make regular mistakes at the moment that the so called top keepers dont. Good shot stoppers and camera saves dont win matches - catchhing basic crosses and collecting balls first time without fumbling prevent losing matches. Hart is guilty of this regularly and it seems to be ignored by commentators and the media as they have built him up as some God. The same sources will turn on him if or when he makes a Paul Robinson or Robert Green type error. Opta for example have him as having the most handling errors in the Euros group stage ahead of Shay Given 2nd who was apparently injured and has been slated by the media.

Hart has one major weakness in his game and that is dealing with crosses. Apart from that he is an excellent keeper. I believe he will work on this part of his game and prove to be number 1 in the world.
Cannot believe people saying Neuer is better. Dont make me laugh. |

Joe Hart is great, given england that strenght at the back we have lacked for years :) somne people always want to moan and slate, cheer up people, hes not the best in the world imo but he will be :)
