Nah, just the vocal lunatic minority who moan about whatever the status quo is. MOTD gets stick left right and center but given is mandate it does the job perfectly.

Like I say, day in day out...hour in hour out they have to talk sport. Eventful days and quiet days. They do it well. 5 live on average are better but given they have to fill far less time Talksport or superior.

Unless you're tuning in for 10 hours at a time, in which case the problem is with you, they offer a fantastic service.

I've gone right off Irani - his rambling questions and anecdotes are embarrassing but Brazil saves him.  I agree with R0y.  We all have our gripes but I enjoy talksport overall.  Five Live is great too but isn't solely sport.

The only time I ever listen to 5Live is between 4 and 7. I turn TalkSport back on at 6.58.

I dont know what his sporting background is but he knows **** all.  I particularly remember one time he had a pop at SA for not going for a win in a rain affected match when they were up in the series.  As it happened I was on the draw at 10-1 as I saw the weather forecast but he was most indignant and critical of SA when they never really had a chance.  I knew then he didn't have a clue.

The other week when they were covering the West Ham game,Collymore described Mark Noble as the glue that knits the side together .

As a bloke whose entire remit is to wind up and push the buttons hard enough of none too bright footballl fans to the extent they feel compelled to ring up @ 50p per minute plus charges or whatever it is, Durham must be the station bosses blue eyed boy.

With the exceptions of Paul Hawskbee and Danny Kelly, the station seems to head hunt the biggest dikcheads in the business. The two former cricketers are just inept, especially Irani, but the likes of Houghton, Collymore, Keys, Goldstein, Cundy and especially Brazil come across as not just crap broadcasters totally lacking in intellect and substance, but absolute tozzers too.

Houghton 'have you played the game' and irani just wind me up.

Houghton is one of those people who surely if their on air persona is how they are in real life (and let's face it, he doesn't strike you as having enough between the ears to be on some sort of wind up), you'd have thought he'd get punched quite often.

I had to suffer him playing for Reading, all be it at the end of his career but he was one of the worst players ever to pull on the hoops. Mick Gooding was tens times the player.

Tbf, as a player he was pretty good for Villa when I used to go fairly regularly, neat and tidy and kept possession well. Could do with him now, but he always seemed to be rather pleased with himself. As you say, the "Have you played the game?" argument really grates.

I quite enjoy Durham's on air trolling, sometimes it gets a bit boring when it's a slow news day but other times some of the stuff he comes out with is brilliant LOL material. And then he tells you he's thinking logical.

He sat in for Durham one afternoon on what must have been the slowest sportsnews day ever, he decided to pretend it was 1995 for an hour and then had people ring and text their predictions for 1996. As it turns out it's actually quite easy to predict the future when you've lived it, who'd have f***ing guessed it???

I like H & J, Keys & Gray are ok in short doses, Goldstein is ok when not paired with Cundy, Collymore & Saggs are ok and Danny Kelly is head and shoulders above all others.
