Anyone else think he is an absolute w@nker, tries to make at least a dozen funny remarks a game, lazy analysis, can't be bothered to be here, dodgy haircut, plastic Patrick,he ain't gay but his boyfriend is etc etc
I'm with you fotofinish. His co-commentary adds absolutely nothing. No insight. No analysis. Just awful jokes and lazy cliches. Most BBC punditry is just a nice little club for ex-pro's (except Lineker who is excellent and Lee Dixon who'se pretty good).

They all just follow along the drift of the games and change opinion like the change in the direction of the wind. A team need only put a couple of good passes together and they'll switch sides. Then they all just follow the anchor man lead.
Time fillers with no special contribution.

Graham Taylor is in a slightly different position as an ex England manager etc so can offer that sort of insight and expertise following the switching commentary themes. Granted his insights are often quite credible and interesting.
