Was just on the horse racing forum and recounted a time when I was at Newmarket on Champions Day and saw Richard Hughes about 40 mins before he was due to ride, paddock side chuffing on a cigarette - consummate professional obviously.

from the players mentioned it appears smoking makes great players, ginola, socretes, cryuff, platini, garrincha and robbie keane.
Bobby Charlton, Jimmy Greaves. In fact, so many GREAT players smoked, I would make it compulsory in the academies.

Not sure about the players but i remember the Argentinian manager in the 78 world cup, during the game walking up and down the touchline chain smoking!!
I also remember back in the 70's a few Boro players would still be in the pub at 2pm!!
