Hawksbee and Jacobs very funny imo. Kelly ok, listen to Durham for a while, particularly when football season on and you'll prob realise he's a complete ****
By:
I listen to talksport a lot and pretty much agree, Durham has his days when you want to throttle him and I struggle to see why Goughie gets a gig on a football phone in. I prefer it with Quinny. Press Pass is good too.
I can't stand their ex-pro input though. Alvin Martin, Ray Parlour and particularly Ray Houghton are so awful it's untrue. Keys and Gray weren't too bad when they started on talksport as they had a bit of humility. Far too smug now, especially Keys who see's his sole purpose in life to pimp out his mates like Wilkins and Hoddle into coaching jobs. |
By:
just ban all ex-pro liverpool players
By:
brazil and mike parry you used to be a quality show ,shame parry left funny show the pair of them, not the same with ronny iranie
By:
they had someone standing in for Goughie the other day, i think it was matty holland. He was so much better than Gough
The problem with Gough and Irani is that it is so obvious everything they say is scripted |
By:
Don't mind any of the presenters apart from Durham and Gough on Drivetime.
By:
Parry was an absolute star, sadly missed. Still like Brazil, Quinny, H&J.
Keys & Gray are boring, Durahm & Gough is torture to listen too & Irani is just Brazils little tea boy. |
By:
Parry and H&J were the onle good things about that shower of a radio station.Parry mocked the listeners and it went over their heads.Used to be a decent alternative to 5live then it became the daily star of radio with ex-players,the most ill educated bunch of buffoons you could possibly meet, dominating the line up.
I want to like Micky Quinn because he comes across as genuine it's just i cant forget that cruelty to horses charge. |
By:
just can't stand any of it, except matterface who's a decent commentator when he's not crowbarring in his pre-written alliterations.
By:
I only listen to 5live these days but i couldn't stand that ludicrous royalist nonsense last week so had a jaunt down memory lane and put talksport on a drive from Cardiff to Birmingham.
However unlikely it seems,it's actually got worse |
By:
All the ex pros on talksport think that if you haven't played the game you have no opinion, Ray Houghton is the best example of this. Sam mattaface and Dants are the only think worth listening to. Time for Brazil to go and Andy Jacobs is just so unfunny its untrue
By:
to right about 5live clarkey.
should have known the jubilee coverage would be bad when the radio times came with a free sick bag. |
By:
I've often thought that about Jacobs but he actually works well with Paul Hawksbee who,in all fairness,is a very quick witted guy.
Talksports just represents everything i dont like about football and it's "supporters".You listen to some of the calls and i swear these people skipped English and studied cliche-ism(if thats a word) at school. ![]() It's a radio station for brain dead neanderthals |
By:
I had to give up listening
![]() A measure of how bad it can be on there, is that Ronnie Irani makes Darren Gough sound like Albert phuckin Einstein ![]() ![]() ![]() Why oh why they insist on getting ex players and the like on to talk about a news story, when not ONE of them has anything interesting or cogent to offer - preferring instead to enlighten us with banalities and cliches ![]() ![]() Parlour makes my ears bleed, Houghton I could never tire of slapping, and contrary to earlier posters, I am baffled by the decision to give Matterface the commentating gig ![]() Many on here question how he managed to pull Natalie Sawyer, but the Talksport appointment was a bigger mystery in my book ![]() Danny Kelly was often ok ![]() ![]() |
By:
Agree with you about Sam Matterface. Seems nice enough but lightweight and has the unfortunate problem of his voice cracking at the first sign of excitement. For commentary the 5live boys are far better (even Alan Green when he commentates not opines).
By:
Hawksbee and Jacobs pure class.PH is so sharp.Agree about Geys and Kray.Dire sycophants and their whole show is so chummy.Brazil just not the same without Parry -- sadly missed.Houghton and Quinn are just unbearable.
By:
talk sport is like the MRS
to much of it and you want to shut it up. small doses is the key |
By:
Hawksbee and Jacobs and Danny Kelly are quality broadcasters, very very good. Along with Danny Baker on R5L, all very entertaining. The downside is the utter tedium and boredom of Gray and Keys parading endless friends beuing totally non controversial, then theres the moron Durham whose sole aim in life is to come up with such rubbish as to create a wave of phone calls to keep the show going.

By:
Forgot to mention Bobby Gould who was on last night.
Senile buffoon - should be put down. |
By:
K&G are absolute top quality whatever you think of their past misdemeanours, which were pretty embarassing admittedly
There is a reason why they won the sony award after all What i like about them is they let the guests do the talking They had Derek Hatton on the other day and were not in the least judgmental Interview with Wayne Rooney last year gave WR the opportunity to show a more thoughtful side to his nature I doubt too many on 5 Live would have given either Hatton or Rooney a chance to get a word in before coming all confrotational and paxmanesq |
By:
it's easy to bash K+G and i was an all out hater on their arrival.
what thelartaps says is right and it's nice to have been wrong (about them) : and for the better. |
By:
Bobby Gould absolutely IS a senile buffoon.
Goldsteins fine on his own/with another presenter but when he's with the gibbering cretin Cundy , he bad. |
By:
ronnie Irani is a geuinely nasty man, a big-time Charlie and clueless fool. take a jump off a cliff Ronnie.
Goughie - a genuine fool also, but seems like a very nice man. Best of luck to you Goughie, but I'd rather not here you. |
