Who would have thought Henderson would be in the Euro squad after the season he's had.

Don't want to have a go at a reasonable young player, but it really is depressing that he's the best we could call on under the circumstances.

Could it be the end of Frank's international career as well?

Not really.  It's not his fault he was picked and I hope he does well.  But it does rather highlight the lack of quality England have available.

good news. might aswell chuck a youngster in, lampard is no great loss, one of the over hyped failures for england.

we would have not won anything with fwank in the team anyway, so what does it matter.

could be a blessing in disguise.

From Wikipedia on Frank Lampard.

Internationally, Lampard has been capped 90 times by England since making his debut in October 1999, and has scored 23 goals. He was voted England Player of the Year for two consecutive years in 2004 and 2005. He played in Euro 2004, where he was named in the team of the tournament after scoring three goals in four games. He was top scorer for England in their successful 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign with five goals, and played in the 2006 World Cup. He is England's most prolific penalty taker ever with 7 goals, surpassing the previous record holders, Ron Flowers and Alan Shearer.

One of the only 'big name' players to perform for England on a big stage.  I know it was a while ago but he was fantastic in that tournament.

Doubt Henderson will play at all to be honest.  They would probably put Jones in midfield before him too.

All depends on injuries.  Our only rb is struggling so jones could easily be right back.  Hendo could easily play.

i think ireland can boast a better midfield than Engerland these days, and they have paul green LaughLaughLaugh

Hender-son-son-son
He’s our midfield magician
To the left,
To the right,
To the English beat tonight,
He is class,
With a brass,
And he **** on Fabregas.

Hahaha like **** he is, carrich should of had the place im not his biggest fan but he actually had a really good season this year, or even get scholes back in for one last pop at international level

hendersons inclusion is a sort of geoff thomas moment.carrick _- henderson = chalk n cheese, its not hendos fault that liverepool paid a fortune for him after he had a few good games for sunderland and becamed hyped as a great talent for the futuere when i all honesty hed probably be more at home in the championship than the premiership.im astounded roy included him  in the stand y squad in the first place.carrick may/may not be as good as other  top euro teams midfieldrs but hes clearly good enuff to have made our squad in the first place.having said all this i hope im proved wrong and hendo shines(i doubt it very much tho).on the bright side we have rarely entered a big comp with so little expectation and this may allow us to play with extra freedom  and who knows we may just do better than wed anticipate.(heres hoping), btw how on earth lennon was left out when hed be the ideal provider for carroll is somewhat bemusing, he always looks the most likely  player to make something happen in my view and his exclusion in favour of downing is a similar situation to the hendo/ carrick one imvho.

At least the Lampard knockers won't be able to blame him for England's demise. He had a GOOD season, and was superb in the last few Champions League games in a more holding role. All the jealous knockers, try and find a higher scoring midfielder over the years.Still thinking?Carry on!
